Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

Got green alps underneath. From a Zenith board where the badge was harvested and the cable was cut.

Re: Alps restoration guide

I have had good results from PTFE suspension, I found the trick to be very little on the slider only in the location were you see the rub marks from the contact. This was on Green Alps. On my Blue Alps they were in better condition so just running the housing through ultra sonic, cleaning the contac...

Re: Honest opinion on beamspring boards?

Came here to rep Marquardt Butterfly with purdobol. Was able to find them in the US and they are individual switches, so custom keyboard layouts are possible, oh and the keycaps are all the same profile! Working on pulling my typewriter apart and making an ortholinear keyboard with the switches (wit...

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome... what worked for you?

I wouldn't throw around CTS as a diagnosis, it is more likely be a repetitive strain injury (RSI). Either way, visit a doctor to find out the issue. The solution is generally the same (improve posture and add stretches in regularly in you day). Different solutions work better for different people bu...

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome... what worked for you?

I switched to the Ergodox with Colemak setup about 4 years ago because of my RSI. I had already made the leap to improving my touch typing and not resting my wrists on table, which helped but not enough. Stretching you forearms and making sure you are sitting high enough to float your hands over the...

It's too bad I:C/Kono have no plan on improving on the Ergodox. I wouldn't mind getting an ergo+beamswitch-like board

that's not unpopular. that's just the Truth
PS/2 ports are the worst, basically impossible to plug in without looking and they are slower then a high polling rate on a USB port.

They wouldn't need to remove the internals, the selectrics where designed to be able to have the keystrokes digitally encoded for things like teletypes and magnicard machines. You only need something like 12 sensors on the bottom of the selectric mechanism to turn every keystroke into a set of 1's a...

I know that Option kind of acts like an Alt+Gr on a normal us layout, but the international layout works differently. It is an actual dead key where you press the "~" and it highlights the character and waits for next key input so if you type "n" it will create an "ñ".

Dead key not working US International Layout on a Mac + Ergodox

Asking a quick question for a co-worker here. They are using an Ergodox-ez (QMK firmware) with the recommended Ergodox layout by the company. They use the US International Layout on a Mac and can't seem to get the "dead key" symbols/letters to print. Any ideas that would help would be appreciated. I...

It arrived to me in that condition, unfortunately. I am always really careful with front-printed caps because I know how easily they can rub off with overzealous cleaning. :-( That's a fucking bummer, but it gives me an excuse to not drop the price of a used car on a keyboard right now. Beautiful board, but hell why didn't the post something here before cleaning it. I always make it my duty to tell people to not clean front printed caps in soap or anything stronger. They most certainly destroyed that front printing by cleaning it.

You should be able to trade for 2 restored F107 for a 3278 and it still would be an unbalanced trade.
