Re: latte/coffee solutions

Well... I know the perfect solution to a perfect cup of coffee that tastes good without being fattening. The trick is to spot underhanded "astroturf" advertising when it appears and not be fooled by it. New user, first post unrelated to the subject of this board, about a subject that people are sen...

Re: Some of my best finds from Computer Reset

Not just noteworthy, possibly unprecedented. I recall people talking about a huge find that Cindy made not long before I entered the community, which I think contained both SSKs and Unsavers?

Re: Some of my best finds from Computer Reset

No, those weren't NIB, but I seem to remember they were in great condition, and it was a LARGE lot of them (more than 100, IIRC). I still haven't found the GH thread. Well 100 is hard to beat  $150 is definitely not what I'm gonna price them at, I think the OG box and sealed cable adds value t...

Re: Some of my best finds from Computer Reset

As for the IBM 5140s it’s not uncommon to see SKCM browns sell for $4 per switch these days in great-or-NIB condition, and maybe $3 for decent condition. As a brown Alps hoarder and enthusiast I’d love to see these go for less but I can’t deny that they are worth those prices. The 5140 has around 60...

Re: Some of my best finds from Computer Reset

Thirty NIB SSKs :-O That’s unreal. I actually feel like $250 might be a little bit high when there’s suddenly 30 of them on the market at once and considering they’re being offered by someone in the community rather than an eBay parasite; that Geekhack sale comes to mind where they went for $150, bu...

Re: finally the kishsaver (or 60%) has been completed

I plan on cutting my AEK case down to 60%. Can you explain your process further for hiding the cut marks? your measurement for the cut is very important. give a bit more room for your first cut and use rough sand paper to sand down the plastic to fit. use static model cement to hide the seam, use f...

Re: Modern Beamspring? - The Silo Beam Switch

Exciting!!! And thanks XMIT for sharing a bit of background too - I love the thought of the Kaihua CEO excitedly clicking a beamspring switch tester between his fingers and getting proper nerdy with you at CES. Also, I can’t imagine a world where I would NOT buy one of these, although I’d probably h...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

(2) Is there anything planned either official or non-official as an add-on, like a plate, that would cap the right hand numpad in such a way that only the top two rows of keys would show, and the arrow cluster on the bottom? I would like to know about this as well — I imagine it wouldn’t be too cha...

Well I made one out of pretty much the finest parts I could get my hands on, with Matt3os Granite caps and SKCM browns. For a fairly high end Alps build it has surprisingly easy to source parts:

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Zed, very cool keycap options!! I'd like to know if keycaps will be available after the first (and second?) production run of the F62s/F77s? I'm asking because some of us may like to wait until we have lived with the keyboards for a few weeks before deciding exactly how to pimp them..

Re: DT Update Log and TODO

I’m with Mu - phpBB is reliable and holds all of the historic threads, and while a newer forum software may have better features and a more active dev community, we don’t really need those features and the risks are substantial.

Re: DT Update Log and TODO

Great work matt3o!! Having done quite a few web launches in my time I know how much effort goes into merely ensuring that the new system will even work, that login still works, that mobile and desktop styling and everything-in-between doesn’t break spectacularly on half the devices, etc. Matt3o did ...

Personally I like the new logo. I like the old one too, so maybe I’m just not so hard to please. The only thing I would say though is that the old one lends itself really well to a square legend; I always thought the ‘DT’ logo with the negative-space D looked classy and sophisticated and frankly awe...
