Re: F104+SSK+122+62+77+50+Ergo orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I have just approved production and assembly of the F122 inner assembly, so now the F122 can proceed to completion. Below are the first photos of the approved F122 keyboard! The F122 was a trickier PCB design. Once again a big thanks to forum member wcass (the designer of the PCBs for the capacitiv...
Re: SA Retro
The £41 set you link is just the modifiers, though, and ANSI only at that. A full SA Retro right now costs 41 for mods + 41 for alphas another 37 for ISO , 15 for the numpad and whatever the shipping / customs are; which can be quite a nightmare. One of my very worst customs experiences was the one ...

Tandberg TDV-5010 Firmware history
I have now disassembled the firmware of a total of 4 versions of the TDV-5010 keyboard from Tandberg Data, and to make it easier to see all of the changes in the code I have put the codebase up as a git repository. I have verified that each commit re-assembles to the exact binaries of the respective...

I want to build 40% keyboard with Alps switches. What are my options? BM43 and Daisy40 support Alps switches. Plates & cases can also be had on ali express. Summer Sale - Many keyboards - UK/EU
Hello everyone, It's been a while. A growing family and sadly non-growing living space necessitate another big sale. But my loss is your gain! These are the first batch I've photographed - there'll be maybe 20 or so more later this week or next. I've been out of the loop for a bit but I think these ...

..So, I've recorded 51 tracks of 28 buckling spring inner assembly configurations over the last few days. Audacity file is 582MB, so not sharing yet - need to figure out how to chop it to manageable pieces first. Details: 12 keys in 3x4 matrix ("678", "yui", "hjk", "nm,"). Same keycaps (from AT) for...

Re: ESSK - Enhanced FSSK PCB.
The comment about modelfkeyboards.com makes me wonder: has anyone tried fitting an F77 inner assembly inside an SSK case? If they fit, then making an FSSK becomes a much easier process! Nope. At least there will be holes on top where Esc and F-keys are, plus you'll need to cut out the plastic above...

Re: Alps Lubricant FOUND!
I know this is at least me and one other person, but if the switch mounting plate is rusty, that's generally my signal to de-solder switches, then sand and paint the plate. I know there are some folks out there that don't care about rust or would only do this if the keyboard is 51% rusted. Otherwise...

Re: Is there something about Cherry MX switches that make them more "clonable" than other designs?
One of the things I don't think I've seen covered yet having scanned the last three pages rather hastily is the choice of keycaps; which is what ultimately drew me to using MX, as the choice is largely "MX or GTFO". And I'm kinda of my time, which is before the IBM PC really took root with its appro...

Re: [WTS] Original IBM Model F107's with Xwhatsit Controller Installed
True, I could sell them for less, but with the market price being more, they most likely will be flipped either now or a year from now, and that's not a great feeling to know you are selling something for significantly less than the fair market value. They also are the last few, so I'm not really in...

If you don't have $300 or so lying around, it's hard to go wrong with a BTC 51-series dome with slider. I bet I could find a nice looking one on ebay for under $30.

Okay. I believe I know what is going on here. It is indeed 9600 baud and there are indeed two codes for each key press / release. Honestly, I'd look into the BTC dome-with-sliders too, like the BTC 51 series. The Packard Bell 5131C is a great example, I got one recently myself and love it. Very snappy and tactile, not mushy at all.
