Re: [GONE] Free parts (Vortex Poker PCB, Keebio Iris PCB+plates, Tai-Hao keycaps)
62 Cherry MX clears later… IMG_3498.jpeg I’ve had these PCB mount clears sitting in my parts collection for something like 10 years, so it’s good to finally give them a home. My initial impressions, having just finished soldering them in: I actually quite like them. They’ve certainly got tactility c...

An NEC product in this space is the PC-6601SR, aka Mr. PC. The keyboard can use infrared or a coiled cable, switching modes depending on whether it is plugged in. I cleaned up a crusty NMB PC-122 a while ago if this is what you're looking for: Just a little necro, but I wasn't able to find other references... I have some questions, if OP doesn't mind answering after all this time ;) 1. Did the board come with RJ-11 connector (aka phone jack)? 2. If so, would...

Re: Cherry ML, does it deserve the hate?
Left is good, though I prefer to split the alphas and have the numpad in the middle. I personally like 75% layouts which remove the nav cluster and instead have a numpad. Perfect best of both words since the numpad has almost the whole ass nav cluster redundant http://www.overclock.net/content/type/...

Re: Some LK201 clones with Cherry MX switches
Next is a Qume QVT-61 from around 1994. This is what got me started on this set, after doing a few older QVT keyboards that cloned a VT100, sort of. QVT-61-case.jpg QVT-61-back.jpg According to a table on Bitsavers , this part number, 303686-11, was also used with a number of other models, even incl...

DSA-like keycaps but angled?
Hi there! I am new to the forum and keyboard modding. I've been searching for a good keycap set for a while, I must say, among the mass produced I like only DSA-like keycaps, but I wondered if there exist DSAs but with Cherry-like angles (sculpted? is that the right term?) Anyway, it is quite hard t...

Epomaker Skyloong SK61S - Gateron Optical Blue Clicky
TL; DR: Lots of positives for the keyboard, itself. Didn't like the switches. ============ LINKY While I'd love to post another Chyros-homage review, I'd have to go back and watch 5 or 6 of his videos to get into that groove. Why I bought this: I hadn't tried the Gateron optical switches, yet. There...

The telephone-style numpad is simple. I imagine the arrow placement takes some getting used to. It ha...

I can only agree with Inozenz about the feel. It is quite nice. As for conversion..I never made an effort to. Since it was a BTX board, its not quite the same as an AT/XT. Cool!
