Re: Future of DT
I'm an email admin (been doing my own mail for 17 years, did it for a university before we went Google) and yeah this is stupidly easy to fix. But, it might not fix Gmail delivery completely as they are finicky as all get out (Sendgrid makes good money for a reason). I do see a SPF record, but no D...

Re: Help Dating a Silver Badge Model M
Thank you for this! It makes me happy knowing that the black covering is potentially original. The black finish and the missing piece in the bottom case will be professionally repaired in the future. I will once again look inside the case for that date stamp in case I missed it. The only pictures I...

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)
I must admit: I just like chording. I find it quicker than reaching out for single-function keys. It's the exact same flow we all know when we type capital letters: you just don't think of it, you "automatically" shift into uppercase with a little press of Shift. Sure, you could have a whole second ...
Re: Karabiner
Here's today's creation: a keyboard expression calculator. Hit Control = and it takes the current text selection, evaluates it, and prints = then the result. (Throw Shift into the mix and it outright replaces the selection.) { "description": "∑ Calc: ⌃ Control = Equals ⇨ Calculate Expression and Pas...

my second DIY keyboard, "Keybird69"
IMG_2089.jpeg I recently finished my second keyboard build . I call it "Keybird69" because it is a keyboard for a Finch, and it has 69 keys. * sandwich case made from LEGO Technic beams and FR-4 plates * unix69 layout * PCB designed by me * Waveshare RP2040-Tiny controller * Cherry MX Clear switche...

Re: NOS Leading Edge DC-2014
Nice. That was my very first Alps keyboard, 30-some years ago, after trying to buy a Northgate at a local computer store. The Northgate didn't happen, even though I had cash in hand ($69, marked down from $99) because the guy couldn't get the receipt printer to work. I used the Leading Edge until I ...

Hi I combined purdeaandrei's universal Model F controller and solenoid driver into a single PCB: https://i.imgur.com/jash74x.png https://i.imgur.com/kheSH9N.png Why replace the controller in your Model F? [IC] BSUN Peach Pride Switches
Hiya Everyone! I’m here to gauge the interest in the switches I’m planning to group buy, they are a pretty rare switch from a notable switch manufacturer: BSUN. If you don’t know about BSUN they are the manufacturers of the GSUS “New panda” holy panda switches. They are a pretty elusive manufacturer...

Hi Guys, I'm working on the IT at Admin's side and have access to DNS config (as well as full server). Is anyone still getting this issue? I added a new DNS record for mech.deskthority.net but it's unclear if it solved the issue as I cannot replicate the issue myself. If anyone has any other tech i...

By the numbers it appears to be the IBM Model F. And since this is post #69 we all have to agree with its conclusion, because... nice. I for one am glad we've finally settled this discussion for good.
Now... what's the best Model F layout?

i dont think that hitting 50 sets is too far off for the german community. Ok, good to know. Its hard to gauge demand when you've never done this before. but itll get very expencive if everyone has to get his set individually from tai hao. A better cost effective solution would be a mass shipping t...

I would prefer something, that is not the "QMK toolbox", which I had installed once a long time ago. The installation "filled up" my PC with many many gigabytes of stuff, but it never worked. Re: Looking for a full-sized keyboard with ISO-DE layout and media keys (and silent red switches)
I think it's fair game to try to mod your 3000N first but some boards are too far gone and can't be saved economically - at least that was my conclusion with my rabbit whole starter Qisan magicforce 69. If a used one off ebay / EKA is an option for you voiding the warranty might be easier. Also you ...

Re: Noob asking for help
I know what you mean when you fear all MX boards ping annoyingly. If I hadn't come from a corsair one I might have aboarded the ship after my short meeting with a Qisan MagicForce 69. The gateron reds felt nice but the plate kept resonating on specific key presses. Gladly not all MX boards are build...
