Re: Beamspring Factory process - How to

Sorry for hijacking the thread, SneakyRobb. CS is (at least in my beamspring) quite a diva and disassamble the beamspring every other day and clean it to avoid severel "hickups" is annoying. What are your symptoms? Keys not registering, repeats, something else? What are your thresholds? Must be abou...

ADDS VT220 Converter

Hi All, I finally got around looking more into this keyboard and making the converter integrated into the keyboard. https://i.imgur.com/HvlfnIG.jpg So this keyboard has the option to run either in AT mode or polling mode. Polling mode I'm guessing is the ADDS protocol and I will have to dive into th...

Re: Weirdly Badged F 122

It looks like some kind of cable lock. I kind of want it off actually because it looks ugly, but I don't want to risk stripping the paint. Thanks for this awesome tip! I was able to find an original ad for the keyboard because of this. Apparently it cost only $1190 USD. That's like $3000 in today's...

Very cool boards, I am always suprised to see a 150X branded something else than the *insert long german word about sick* ones that are so common One has to admit though that "Chip Carte" doesn't have the same presence and ring to it as "Krankenversichertenkarte" has ;) And yes, these seem to be no...

Re: Fortune Systems looooong keyboard with Digitran capacitive switches (conversion)

I'm slowly starting to piece together the CommonSense stuff. I have some very basic questions, and maybe they're better suited for that thread but I feel out of place with my little "which wire do I connect here?" questions when everyone else in there seems to have a PhD in electrical engineering. Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

I might ask just_add_coffee if he would be up to the challenge. I've seen his F122 restoration for someone else and I REALLY dig the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-4O_m4vOkQ I also know JAC has experience with the bolt mod, although I am close to doing that anyway. I just need to drill hol...

Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

Calm down, please. You don't need all of them, you can use model M keycaps and stabilizers on some keys and they will be the same as in your keyboard. I shaved some of the plastic to make them fit. What if you make a thread asking for someone else to restore it? I would gladly do it for free but th...

Cool, i did not know somebody else did something like that... did you make a thread about it? (I am back to tkl atm. Does anyone know about wiring speakers and amplifiers ?

I got a subwoofer with no volume control module, the amplifier and everything else is inside the subwoofer box.

If I get this 9-pin plug cable and cut it back to bare wires, what do I connect to hot-wire it so that it is just on at full volume all the time?

Thanks!

Re: What gaming mice work with linux?

These days, almost everything should work out of the box, as long as it adheres to the USB HID specification. Many "gaming" mice go beyond that, though, to allow configuration of lights, buttons etc. There are projects that attempt to cover this natively (e.g., OpenRazer mostly for lights in Razer p...

Re: Mechanical boards that are/were made /marked towards *nix?

Yes, I think a PC keyboard without Windows keys, or the legend changed to something else would classify as a Unix keyboard. Sun uses the diamond ◆ symbol on the same key that in USB is used for Windows/Command key and the Compose key is the same as the Menu key. In the mid '90s, several Unix vendors...

I recently picked up a Focus 5001 with white Alps. Even the calculator works! Looks like they may even been older complicated Alps with the slits and mould numbering too. Re: PingJunior: 60% PingMaster build

The idea is to use the same kind of switches... or at least other switches that feel close enough for them not to strike the user out of place (YMMV). If nothing else, I should try to score one of those 1-row keypads, even if they have some cheap-ass Cherry MX clone, to test out the concept and see ...

Re: [IC] A true GH/DT custom keyboard kit - What do you want to see?

After all, isn't that what a custom keyboard should allow you to do, rather than restrict you? I'm 100% interested in this, the lone fact that you mention the KMAC as an exemple, is intriguing as I got one exactly for this reason, so I am definitely interested in something that goes beyond what the...
