Re: First Build Thread Custom Alps TKL

On a side note, I believe the PCB is going to take a few weeks to get here from LFKeyboards. Has anyone else here had experience with them, and how long it actually takes for them to arrive?

Re: Fixing a Commodore SX-64 keyboard - alternative to "Graphit 33" conductive spray?

How about aluminium tape ? https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/adhesives-sealants-tapes/tapes/aluminium-tapes/ THe surface may be protected with something but you can just rub it off with a scotchbrite I thought about this, but ultimately I feel it will be too fiddly and time consuming - at that point I...

Re: Genius idea of the day

So, I've been peeking inside a few of my unconverted keyboards, and remembered this: Another alternative (says it has 6 extra pins compared to the Pro Micro): https://candykeys.com/product/elite-c USB C, cool. They say the USB pins are broken out (copied to their own pins on the board) which is a ni...

Re: Broken microcontroller: what to do next

If soldering MCU pins fixed the problem for a while then it is likely you have badly soldered MCU to PCB or the MCU is broken. The thermal stress may have temporarily (dis)connect something in the MCU package. The chance that it is somewhere else around the broken row traces on the PCB is lower now....

Re: Fixing a Commodore SX-64 keyboard - alternative to "Graphit 33" conductive spray?

Over here at least, every major city has a place that sells and repairs tv remotes, maybe they can help you. If you look for a place like that (or one that repairs TVs for example) you may have it repaired for a few bucks. Rule of thumb: the older the technician is, the better. And, if everything el...

Videowriter is now sold! I won't complain about the Beamspring prices (since I traded you a pile of really nice boards for one) but will say: we've come a long way since 2015. GLWS. Please do tell us about the boards you've decided to keep - in another thread perhaps. Thanks! I believe I mentioned t...

Re: IBM Model F 122 clean up (before & after)

Great work on the F122! <re-posted> My Model F have received a floss mod, but the result is very limited. In an open office situation, you likely get some people upset. When my wife sits downstairs and I type, I definitely get from time to time a grumpy "stop typing so loud". For me, the typing soun...

I would give it a little test, have had an acer in the past and did not notice any roll-over problems.

PS/2 to USB adapter hitting Print screen with arrow keys

Well this is a new one. Picked up another PS/2 to USB adapter, and this one hits print screen whenever I hit an arrow key.

Anyone else run into THIS kind of issue? Using my AT101W with it, the adapter was some Manhattan brand I picked up at a local computer store.

Something else I have noticed in the Wiki is that many pages are marked as "Stub" but could be unmarked as such because they contain a reasonable amount of information. As for categories what do you have in mind? Hmm. If we don't have forms, and we do have a visual editor where we can't have comment...

I see that QMK* has particular codes KC_CUT, KC_PASTE etc but I suppose you could also program it as a macro that sends Cmd+C, Cmd+V for example. Did you try either/both of those methods or something else?

Hmm. Seems unlikely the controller is to blame anyway, as those are typically a total failure. Sounds like the board's been damaged where it hurts most: snapped rivets. Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

Here's the thing about ISO: the extra key it has over ANSI comes from that short Shift. The big Return key that's so characteristic of ISO swallows up most of the space freed up by removing ANSI Return *and* the 1.5u key above it. You're substituting 2 keys for 2 different keys over there. Which an...

Indeed! I'd forgotten all about the JP's insane non-standard stagger. That alone would drive me nuts! I can imagine an ISO HHKB, but it wouldn't be that. Think of the ANSI version, and squeeze the Backspace key up top like they did on the JP. You're still a key short though, aren't you? That key spe...
