My concerns about the material is that it be strong enough that the lip not shear off, and that it has the right flex for the arm ("tongue")to keep it pressed against the cap at the proper pressure. It might take a couple of goes at it to the get the "tongue" right in printed form. As long as we us...

We could always redesign the cherry mx housing to be a solid piece instead of being so needlessly complex. Like I would think of putting a pcb inside the switch itself as a discrete unit for capsensing. That would provide lots of compatibility. Perhaps we could work out some way of inverting the bea...

Who is the beam spring meister?

I am looking for a man/woman of greatness. One who possesses the mighty IBM beam spring. (And several spare preferably they can sell to me) I'm willing to study any board donated or sold to me - I am a part time conspirator with lot_lizard's MF project, and I good sir, wish to construct a replica be...

Might I ask what store you got these from? "A few square label Ms" are not to be passed up if they are still there... I got them from a1usedcomputers - but beware that shipping to the US basically kills whatever good deal you think you're gonna get. Also, there's no way to know what condition they'...

The new barrels and flippers allow passthrough tension screws in all 4 corners of EVERY barrel base (eliminating flat plate tension concerns). Careful with those. You're putting huge grounding rods around unshielded cap you want to measure. Not necessary a bad thing, just to remind that there are e...

A good bet will be to make them model m stem compatible and snap on like the good old model m caps.

It would be much cheaper too to make of you only made one bit. But I would maybe like some for my heavily modified model F

The goal here is to recreate the IBM Model F mechanism exactly or at least very closely I have maintained for years that the "switch" (not even really applicable to these mechanisms) is not the component that makes the Model F so spectacular, otherwise the Model M would be extremely similar in feel...

Alright, I'll share one thing, and that is the proposal of using 2 springs for the buckling mechanism instead of one. The use of smaller diameter springs allows much lower profile at which it buckles and yet also the same weight as a conventional bs. I'll leave it to you guys to prototype a cherry s...

Lot_lizard I have some special ideas that might interest you in the way of cherry compatible buckling springs and beam springs in the same profile of the cherry switch.

One of our geekhack members directed me here, I wonder if you're interested? ;)
