Oh, I see. Well, it might be an idea for a completely custom controller but I'm not sure if you could do it with a Teensy and wiring up rows and columns isn't that big of a deal. Still I like the idea, somebody should try. :)

I don't quite understand how using a cap on every switch is easier than using a diode on every switch.

I think football in this case is the sport not the object. You could call it Tastatursammelverein or something like that because that is also something that you do. It's more obvious with other things like "Bogenschießverein" oder "Bogensportverein" not "Bogenverein" and most definitely not "Gewehrv...

Nice. :)

Scratch that. Not a BS. Might be able to use the shell though. Would make a sexy frankenboard. ^^

Oh and I just looked through http://deskthority.net/wiki/IBM_Beam_Spring_Keyboards but couldn't find this exact board. Does anybody know what it is?

Does indeed look very cool. I wonder how it feels, after all they're just plate mounted and screwed to a piece of wood. Then again the original 11800 feels amazing imho. The browns feel so much better than in my Kinesis.

I just took webwit's advice and hit it with a hammer. (I knew I could always sue webwit if anything went wrong :D) Those contamination shields are always in a pitiful state, but at least they usually protect the rest of the keyboard from getting ruined, no matter how badly it was stored. I was pret...

yeah he said he could reserve me one of those nice ones he just finished and also my favorite colors, green, yellow, orange are still there (can´t understand the people who went with another color). Tearing apart my beam spring

I bought a beam spring board on Ebay a while ago. It was probably overpriced but I was greedy and stupid. With xwhatsit making controllers for them now I decided to check out the condition and see if I can't get it to work. Here are some pictures: almostcomplete.jpg The foil is probably supposed to ...

Or the IR sensor design that's being crowd-funded... Link?! :) That's one hell of a mod. Especially if they actually got it back in a keyboard… It was a completely custom board for creating electronic music iirc. EDIT: It was quite a bit of trouble but for you I found it: http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Reminds me of the Fingerworks Touchstream cursor keys. This is a swipe movement, if I remember correctly two fingers on the board and directional movement, or something similar. Now the nice thing is, if you swipe faster, the cursor moves faster. It was really useful. I'd love to see the mechanical...

How about articles that can be attached to threads. So when there is a really huge thread like for the ergodox or soarer's converter somebody can write a nice article about it and it can be attached to the thread like a summary. A version of the spy solely for new articles would make a nice overview...

I think where the symbols are and where enter is and such don't really have anything to do with ergonomics. You can just remap them as you please anyway.

I agree all those boards with miniscule layout changes are massively boring. Everytime somebody says something like "I want bla in ISO" or "foo in ANSI" I want to smack them over the head.
