Ultimately Lock Lights are a good idea; I miss them on my F XT. Looking forward to seeing what you do! :)

Then don't type with the Caps Lock on. Problem: Solved :D
Well I guess it would be kind of funny to have the keyboard light up as I type my rants.

It was, and I was tempted too. But the broken tabs and lack of badge, not to mention the uncertainty of whether or not it would work were dealbreakers at that price, and certainly at $100. :ugeek:

Hey so I've decided to try to open this thing and repair it. The trouble is I don't know how to open it. I see those plastic clamps on the back, but I even though I can move them I don't see a way to do it simultaneously. Also are those the only fasteners? Or are there more underneath the rubber fee...

Thanks, guys. I was on the fence because I don't like single unit Backspace keys. Now I know not to get it.

Looks great. I love those blue sub-legends on the numpad keys. I've always been curious to try blue Alps switches.

I've always been curious to try a keyboard where the keys are are alphabetically arranged. Also it makes sense that "E" is in the home row, as it is the most used letter (at least in English).

Thank you for the replies. I'll re-watch your video on maintaining Alps switches and seeing if that's the problem. If not I may check the caps, but I don't have any diagnostic equipment (or know-how for that matter). I may just change them all.

Dead Focus 2001

Hey there. I recently bought a Focus 2001 from a recycling center. I was using it on my computer via a Soarer's Converter. It was working fine, but sometimes it would take a while to power up. While using it one day I could no longer type and a string of ds (ddddddddddddddddd) came up, and then it d...

UPDATE! I just got my blue cube from Clickykeys and now my Model M runs like a champ. I can now mash the keys with the best of them. See?

Thanks, Myoth! I tried remapping the keys from some post on Reddit, but I really couldn't follow it. If I could remap some other keys to what I need, then this gem could truly be my daily driver.

Model F PrtSc

Hello. I recently got an IBM Model F XT from the recycling center. I'm running it on my PC with a Soarers converter and it works great. The only problem is I can't get the Print Screen to work. I've tried Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and Num Lock, but all I get are asterisks. Any help would be appreciated. Tha...

Well this just looks awesome. I love the idea of the keyboard being integrated into the desk (especially a beam spring), and the overall look and color scheme. Now you got me looking for/building a similar looking setup for my workstation. Thanks for the thread!

Thanks, __red__. I think the adapter I bought was described as active, but maybe it isn't. I ordered a new one from Clicky Keyboards, and that's definitely active, so it should work. It does stop when I press another key, so that further corroborates that theory. We'll see!

Thank you for the replies. It happens to different keys, and always unexpected. It may be the converter. It is active, but it was the cheapest one I could find (yeah I'm a cheapskate). It will also happen if I mash the keys like this: a;edtiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieirhptkgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg...

IBM Model M Sticking Keys

Hello. I recently purchased an IBM Model M from a recycling center. I gave it a good surface cleaning, but I didn't open it. It's part number1397599 ( a blue logo Lexmark made in 1994). I'm using it on my computer via a Sabrent brand active PS/2 to USB converter. Most of the time it works great, and...
