D7x00 should be plenty enough for keyboards. I'm still using a D90 w/ a shitty 28-80 f/3.3-5.6G lens from an N55 . I'd personally go for a mid range body (like the D7200) and find a decent tripod at the minimum, possibly a light as well. Being as keyboards don't move it's easier to setup on a tripod...

Looks a lot like the Desko I have, it might actually be one. Main differences I see are mine's ANSI, has a trackpoint thing in front and has a permanently attached serial cable. The casing and cutout for the keys are the same.

How did you all find DT?. acfrazier and neko2k directed me here right after I got the pile of old IBM boards and I just stuck around. You'd be better off heading to a dedicated mac forum like 68kmla. Not sure how many old Mac collectors hang out around here.

It shouldn't. In the past when I dyed caps I had no problem with texture. You might get a texture change if you get the batch too hot and melt the caps but that'd take some effort.

If mailing in the US, the USPS large flat rate game boxes hold IBM keyboards fine, whether XT or 122 or M (I've mailed all). On XT and M you need a little more packing to fill the ends but I've found crumpled newspaper works well at filling that in.

I've honestly got no idea on who to use for producing anything, whether stickers or aluminum badges. From a quick web search finding people to do custom size white labels is pretty easy, however not finding much on clear custom size labels. Problem with white would be it'd look odd against the other...

"Delete" would be backspace, that was just Apple labeling. To the best of my knowledge page up/down/home/end aren't actually doable without setting up either a converter that allows macros or something on the computer side. A lot of Apple boards were missing keys deemed unnecessary, such as the lack...

Also, should we create custom printable 'FSSK' labels? I could whip up a template later. Not 100% accurate on the bottom label to an original label. Text is too bold but that can be fixed later. Round label is modeled off an AS/400 badge and as such put at the same angle and font (italic Helvetica)...

An area for member feedback could work. I know some forums have a thread for deals that went good\bad (like the thinkpads.com forum) and others have a dedicated subforum for feedback (like 68kmla). I do own some fancier keyboards like a beamspring, F 122, etc but I still go back to a plain Model M. Desktop has a Model M 1391401 with mix-n-match caps and hasn't been cleaned in quite a while.

Is it known whether or not this particular board is AT (PS/2) or not? If it's a proprietary protocol for the Nokia setup it'd make sense if it doesn't work right. If it is plain AT or PS/2 I'd check out the foam\foil pads to see if they deteriorated and some fell on the PCB. These boards didn't age ...

Going to that computer, it's certainly an odd one. Looks to be a Z80 CP/M machine with 64K ram, only on the market for a year. Original machine name would be Telcon Industries Zorba, just a rebadge by Xcel to run their Up/Doc software.

Probably Futaba. Made by Se Jin, model EAT-1010 based on the S/N. The key cap font just screams Se Jin as well.

Here's a few pics of one I have with a big enter key, http://imgur.com/a/ZvyJ7 .

ITC XKB-3 (Modified XT Keyboard)

I'm cross-posting this here from geekhack as an odd discovery. It turns out one of the keyboards I sold has an interesting hackjob on the controller, as shown in this thread . I don't really know the history on these two, except a lot of boards came from Litton Data Systems, Boeing and Hughes - all ...

FK-5001 is basically the "old" 9000. Main obvious difference is the 9000 has LED windows in keycaps rather than on the top right and the 5001 uses a CR2032 rather than barrel battery.
