I think they are white Alps or clones. They feel like craps but hey I get some nice keys out of the deal.

Found in Italy? Now that's just weird. If these were prototype Alps, then there shouldn't be many in circulation, which would predispose these to a limited area. However, if one was found in the US and another in Italy, then surely there were enough to be sent around the world. So the question is, ...

That Intelligent Scanning System 4000 board is freaking sweet. Lovely legends, weird labeled LEDs, and SKCC Alps. The switches feel great on both boards! I almost missed them. They were under shrink wrap with the entire machine which was going to be scrapped. I'm curious about that ADDs/NCR board. ...

Keyboard Haul - Type Setting Shop Episode #1

I'm pretty stoked. I just picked up a huge load of equipment from an old family owned type setting shop, all in for $125! As you can see many of these keyboards have unique legends which went with old computer systems used with phototypesetting machines. 1.JPG Pictures of the haul: Working Kaypro 1 ...

I like the Fluke as well. The other stuff might be left to goodwill or find someone local. I ended up scraping a couple dozen printers and faxes as no one would take them. It's amazing what businesses will throw out or pay to get ride of.

That is a sick find. You should buy a lottery ticket while your at it. I don't mean to brag but there is in fact a decent chance that I will be able to find a few more of these within the next few months, so hopefully anyone who misses out shouldn't feel too bad. My employer has connections with th...

I got some more pic's. Hopefully some updates by next week. Apparently some of these funky keyboards are from the 90's and are unique to typesetting.

The identical white / beige ones with the black cable look to me like they have the BTC font, so probably not worth getting. The one with the grey top cover in the pile looks like it could be an NTC Cherry board, though... :o Christ, that's embarrasing! Meant to say NCR Cherry, not NTC (= usually A...

I have probably a 15x15 room that all of our junk goes to, but I honestly don't like having a lot of keyboards anymore. They are a hassle to deal with. I'm vying for a collection of 10 or less. I thought it looked cool as well. I'm not limiting myself to a set number as I will always make room for ...

Ebay has probably the best coupon code I've ever seen that you can use on any one item >$50 for the next few hours for 20% off. You might be able to apply it to multiple items if used at checkout where there are multiple items in your "cart." Full details here: https://pages.ebay.com/promo/2018/060...

It makes it even funnier when you read the description and see "This keyboard is a less common color variant of black on top and red underneath." That's marketing for you. It would still be awesome to type on without a top case.

A keyboard with the "Options by IBM" branding means it was manufactured by Lexmark and so dates to the early to mid 90's. The keyboard in the listing is an earlier Model M which was manufactured by IBM.

If you find that beamspring is your end game then perhaps it will save you money in the long run. A steady stream of cheaper purchases over the course of a year or longer can really add up. Seven-ish hours to go and it's at ~788 USD (+ ~96 shipping). Don't call me Ishmael. :? If previous experience has taught me anything, it will almost certainly go for significantly more than $1000 with most of the jump being in the last 2 minutes. Gone. ~1190 USD (plus shipping). At these prices, I'...
