I would either go with USB 3.1 USB-A male connector, or with USB-C. I have personal dislikes for mini-USB - those cables and connectors are just to unstable.

The almost perfect Layout here - bottom row with all needed keys + iso. This bottomrow on a 96 (97, that is) is my dream.

I would prefer something truly classic for the first batch, a colorway which has proven to be not to "special" - the classic black on beige, white on black or Dolch comes to my mind.
