Actually, that in itself is a stylistic thing, that is IIRC due to Japanese handling of Latin scripts.

You'll notice that they all-caps joint ventures with companies that are definitely not all caps in their home countries, too.

Yeah, Wikipedia goes heavy on the lowercase for ease of linking reasons, I think. If you need more caps, you can always link the hard way. And, MediaWiki handles initial capitalization for you, so you can use either inline.

Also, ugh, I feel dirty, I just wrote a rubber dome stub. :P

I've personally been trying to use initial capitals, capitals for proper nouns, but otherwise lowercase, simply because it's a pain to link to [[Every Word Capitalized|every word capitalized]] article names inline with text. Which actually means I should switch Infobox company and Infobox Company ar...

Going through the needed articles, I'm beginning to see a style issue that will bite us in the ass if we don't fix it soon. Alps vs. ALPS. My vote on that one is, use what the company calls themselves, which is Alps , not ALPS. If a few of us agree on that, I'll go ahead and move articles that do no...

Speaking of categorizing, can Template:Infobox Unternehmen be deleted?

Nothing uses it, and Template:Infobox Company (which was identical before I started editing stuff) is used instead.

Keyswitch test rig from Marquette University

Looking something up, I stumbled on this article: http://www.eng.mu.edu/nagurka/NagurkaMarklinLiu_Design%20of%20Test%20Rig%20%20for%20measurement.pdf Looks like it's quite capable - I'd actually like to see the results of sticking a plate spring or Peerless under it - I think it would show the sprin...

Well, that was fun, shoving templates into the wiki, and adding a bunch of redirects in places.

If you see an incomplete article, or you start one, tag it with {{stub}}, please. That way, it gets tossed into Category:Stubs, which can be brought to people's attention more easily.

I find that the cheap Logitech and Microsoft mice are decent, although I prefer detents on a scroll wheel, which leaves Logitech usually. My favorite, though, and often cheap if you find the right search term, is the IBM/Lenovo ScrollPoint Optical 800 dpi. Unfortunately, there's only Windows drivers...

And it's 50,000 yen. If I absolutely knew I loved the switch and didn't want anything else, I'd consider it, but that's too rich for my blood for a switch that I've never used before, and while I like the description a LOT, who knows, I might not like it in reality.

And connected to #deskthority on Freenode.

And I'm not old.

Use a keyboard tray that's pushed all the way in, but gives enough clearance for your hands.

Get into anything that requires rapid-fire typing.

You can accurately make a judgment when your fingers are stiffened up after a couple minutes of fast (even if it is nonsense) typing, when even an older M doesn't do that.

I wonder how Beam Spring switches feel. But I feel like I could not afford them at all. They are only available in IBM Selectrics, right? I would love one of them, even though I wouldn't have any use for it. Edit: Not IBM Selectric, I meant the IBM Displaywriter. What switches do the Selectric use ...

I just saw bhtooefr just moved a bunch of his reviews. Another old-timer GHer is making the (wise) switch. Honestly, I've just gotten sick of the cults of personality and pissing matches all over Geekhack. Quite a lot of old info is still there, so it's a decent reference, and there are some intere...

I never connected it either, but Sandy's site has the pinout: http://sandy55.fc2web.com/keyboard/ibm_p7x_en.html I find it hard to describe the behavior, because it isn't mushy, but at the same time it is. I guess you could say... it's like you took Cherry blues, and instead of mounting them on a PC...

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the thing now.

It was shorting out the entire USB randomly on the system it was connected to, so I swapped in my EnduraPro.

So, the good thing is, Unicomp's architectures are very modular. No need to complain about ANSI vs. ISO - the way the Model M-derived designs work, the tooling makes one design that is only defined as ANSI or ISO by where the hammers/springs and the inserts are placed. So, you'll get both designs. I...
