As far as I can see there's just a wire stabiliser and a `dead' key (or was it two?) with just a spring in it. As long as the wire stabiliser is adequately lubricated on its journals, and there's no interference from the case (you have to be careful when reassembling the top cover) there's no reaso...

Re: Beamspring USB controller
These things are INCREDIBLY sensitive to debris on the PCB. Best bet is to remove the PCB and clean it off with high-percentage isopropyl alcohol, on both sides, I'd say, then allow it to dry before reinstalling it. Yes, that was exactly what I did and it seems to have done the trick nicely. Now fo...

Re: Beamspring USB controller
I stripped the keyboard down and found that there were bits of contamination shield flaked off between the key modules and the sense board pads. I think that is what happened. The exact bug was such that Tab didn't fire at all, while Ctrl fired key down, but Tab key up was fired on release. Althoug...

Thanks for the tips! I would like to replace the contamination shield with new material, but I must order a decent key cap puller. Also, I see exactly what you meant regarding the spacers under the blank keys. Once I removed it, the key functioned normally. By the way, my 3727 has a similar heritage...

Re: Beamspring USB controller
Yeah I thought about that but that would be my last choice. Wallwarts are a pain at the best of times, let alone being a second cord coming out the back of your keyboard, having to route over my desk down to a multiadaptor. If this doesn't work out, I'll go down that route; it would be a significan...

I sent a controller to Revenge today and still have the parts for another. I was thinking of keeping it in case I come across another keyboard, but if someone really wants it, just let me know. I also have an additional 7 connectors left over. Since we're such a small and elite group, I think us be...

Brace for thread necro impact, but I have a few questions about the peripheral system: 1. Are the 6010 series dials built to the same level of quality as the 50XX series? They say "Made in Japan", but I've not seen inside one of those. 2. Has anyone adapted / converted the system for use with modern...

Good job! We all expect pictures! I picked up a nice braided USB cable. http://cdinc.com/misc/beamspring1.jpg I slotted the end of the connector so it would seat all the way in on the right side. http://cdinc.com/misc/beamspring2.jpg I need to lower my keyboard drawer now so it will slide under the...

Idea: A Thin and Light Cherry MX Bluetooth Keyboard...
...with the following ingredients: 1. Low profile MX keycaps, ala MX Board 2.0/3.0 2. PCB mount switches 3. A thin acrylic bottom plate layer below the PCB, with precut holes and spaces to accommodate components. This plate would ideally be thin enough to just allow the PCB to lie flat on a flat sur...

Re: New Controller for KishSaver and Other Model F
This converter with special serial no. 002 is on the way to AU. Enjoy, 002 :D http://i.imgur.com/PR6W29Ul.jpg For those who are interested, my converter has some limitations: 1. Keyboard(6019284) has only *3-byte* key buffer. 2. Keyboard has same scancode on both Alt key. You can't use different sc...
