The future of ALL switches is zilch. Nada. Nothing. The near-future is voice , and the not-too-distant-future is thought . But in the here-and-now, the best mechanical switch is old school IBM buckling spring, though if you like artisan keysets, keycaps, customization, color, etc., you should give ...

Yes, there's a mod you can do, but it involves disassembling the keyboard:

What I personally do when I type on my model f is put a few small weights on the spacebar, which I find helps.

Hope you enjoy the video! :) JcV8_4MUwT8 Many thanks for this review! The GUYM97SK is one of my favourite keyboards, along with the Model M. Bought a blac...

Hydrogen peroxide is a bleach, so it will make the stems white whether they ever were white or not. Also, UV is not required, and possibly will make them turn yellow again faster if they are exposed to heavy UV during the whitening process. All that is required to activate peroxide is heat. 120f-18...

Good answer! Thank you. But I only have medical hydrogen peroxide. It has only 3% concentration.Seems ineffective. Do you have a good idea to restore clear switches's key-stem? With white plastic, it should work, albeit very slowly. Put it in a closed jar, and check on the plastic a few times every ...

High concentrations of hydrogenperoxide do, indeed, work (hydrogenperoxide is also the most important ingredient in retrobrite), but people restoring old toys in this way have reported that the yellowing often returns within a few years. A few people have also stated that the yellowing ultimately go...

IBM 6112884: pics inside

A few weeks ago, I finally bit the bullet and bought one of the IBM 6112884 keyboards offered on E-Bay (the link is to Chyrosran22's review). As others have pointed out here and elsewhere, these are Alps-built keyboards, featuring linear SKCC Green switches. Shipping to Europe was very expensive, bu...

This is not entirely relevant to your question, but the two keyboards I use the most are my Dell AT102, with complicated black alps, and my IBM model M. Do you already have the product? If not, I'd contemplate using something else. The only way I can think of involves carefully applying the stuff to each and every individual stem with toothpicks or something of the kind.

You need an active converter which translates the PS/2 codes into something the USB port 'understands'. Orihalcon also sells a more expensive solution that allows you to remap the keys , which may help you get closer to the layout you are after. And then there's the 'blue cube' . It works well, and ...

Cleaning & lubricating my AT102

Recently I acquired an AT102, having become curious if original Alps felt like the switches in my Matias Tactile Pro.
