Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Weird Model F? This was in the closet and I don't remember why I kept it or what it was. Is this just a PC/XT board with some overlays glued on? No ID on the badge, just "IBM", which seems odd to me. No label on the bottom (steel plate). Standard 5 pin DIN. Your guess seems to be right, does look l...

Re: What Are Your IBM Model F Preferences? (XT vs AT vs 122...)
There is a smaller beamspring than that, the model number escapes me. Was for a police car terminal from the 70s. Edit : IBM 2976... Yeah that would be the find...I've never seen one though. Looks like a 3277 with only the 60% block.Wouldn't be too hard to make one since the caps already exist. Jus...

Re: xwhatsit beamspring converter help
Most likely think is that that one column is not connected well and would clean the whole connector on the capsense PCB side with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel or Qtip and rub until you stop getting graphite colored oxidation off of it. The other thing is that there is quite a bit of horizontal...

xwhatsit beamspring converter help
Hi guys! Recently bought a 3727 and an xwhatsit converter from orihalcon. I've thoroughly cleaned the entire board including the pcb and the switches. Plugged in according to the manual but for some reason, column 9 which consists of the keys 5, T, G, B, is detected as permanently clicked no matter ...

IBM Beamspring questions
And also, all the blank buttons (tilt, button next to return key and button next to send key) are not pressable. Was this designed like this? If so is it possible to replace that single module with a working beamspring module from say xwhatsit to get it working? Great looking board, I have this mod...

Re: IBM Beamspring questions
Do yo have any pics of the screws? The blank keys are normal. Keyboards of this era often had multiple uses and layouts and instead of manufacturing a new unique keyboard for each application, they often just changed the key caps; putting in blanks if not needed. It would also be programmed for tha...

IBM Beamspring questions
Hi guys! Recently acquired this board: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170707/70b94426e9e09e57e99f12e2753a9ab6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170707/444d1a06caef17e29de8205cccc7d4de.jpg My objective is to restore this to a fully working condition with xwhatsit adapter. However, the screws...
