Re: Find spares parts from old keyboard
The fix shouldn't be too hard -- the switches are Cherry MY and I believe they aren't the worst to repair... you'll need some glue though, I think? (I'm not sure if the switches were riveted in or clipped in). As for the parts -- the switches will be easy as people usually just throw away Cherry MY ...

Re: IBM 5556-001 Multistation Keyboard
Awesome pics and an awesome keyboard, thanks for sharing. Can you use it on a modern computer as is, or did you need to convert it? You do need a converter, yes. I've heard it uses Set 3 with a weird pinout, but I'm not entirely sure. The board acts weird with break codes though, so it wouldn't hav...

IBM 5556-001 Multistation Keyboard
It was a pain for me to find a good quality photo for one of these, so I figure I should take some. ;) I didn't take any pictures of the bottom of the case mainly because the case isn't original and is from the Chinese dyesub variant, but anyways... Enjoy! :D https://i.imgur.com/JFMyctj.jpg https://...

[WTB] Some KPT or KPT-clone switches
I'm mainly looking for the click leaves in KPT switches, the ones that look similar to Alps ones but are a bit smaller. No, not Mantis foot. I'm mainly looking to get them from those who just have them laying around from boards with the caps looted as I'm not going to pay much for these. Just shippi...

Re: Alps Appreciation
Took delivery of an ISO (qwertz) SGI granite today and it surprised me by having a switch I've never seen before. Bamboo cream damped. The sliders are kinda greasy like pine cream damped, and honestly the board feels pretty nice despite being dirty, very similar if not a bit better than my SKCM pin...

Re: When did you first start appreciating keyboards?
I really started caring about mechanical keyboards at around early 2012 when I was staying at my my brother's friend's house. The friend's brother had a Razer Blackwidow (Yes, the 2012 one), and it was nothing like I've ever tried before. It was a novelty thing, and very expensive for me at the time...
