Did you ever try Cherry Clears? IIRC Kinesis did sell the PCBs and "frames" to mod an Advantage without damaging its original switches.

They're more tactile than Browns, not quite as sharp as the Alps (and assuming Matias) though.

How are the rivets on your Unicomp holding up? Broken ones kill much of the tactility. One of my Ms could use a partial screw mod and you can feel the difference.

Look carefully, the sticker says 05DEC89, 1989-12-05, referring to the wiki, this puts it squarely in the middle of the "second generation".

A 1985 vintage board would also have had a square logo, not an oval one.

You might be able to resolve this by using small pliers/tweezers to straighten the tabs.

Another step is the so-called "paper mod" which can be done by inserting a small piece of paper or tape between the outer side of the leaf and the switch housing.

IIRC the Greenock Ms with the dreaded ABS spacebars also have a grounding wire on the aforementioned key. (I have a Greenock M from 1990-12-12 and it has a PBT spacebar.)

Beasway: do not confuse physical and logical layouts.

One for the vintage computer crowd: an IBM 5363 S/20

Comes with a 122 keys terminal Model M. I asked the seller whether the underside of the board was black metal or white plastic, he replied it was the latter.

I prefer a bar near the lower edge of the cap versus a dot in the middle à la AEK II. I find the latter's dot "intrusive" (for lack of a better word) while hitting the keycaps.

The oval shape sounds interesting, overly sharp corners will trap dirt more easily.
