Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
… I find it very strange that many of you seem to have this fixation on permission for this. It's deprecated and abandoned firmware that the owner has ZERO intention of improving/furthering. You don't actually KNOW the truth value of your last assertion. Don't forget that point. Also, deprecated? I...

Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
Well, the binaries are out there. Get to decompiling. I don't care to. I would rather see alternative converters pop up instead of resurrecting the mummified corpse of soarer's converter. And documented? The documentation matters quite a lot here. Indeed, that's the entire point. It's literally doc...

Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
A GOOD FAITH EFFORT TO FIND THE OWNER HAS TO BE MADE FIRST. This is true for intellectual property, true for real estate, etcetera. I don't understand why some people insist on glossing this over, FFS. A good faith effort has already been made. Not that it matters. I don't remember soarer ever putt...

Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
Why bother with any of it? I don't know why anyone would feel obligated to get "permission" to decompile something that's been abandoned for almost a decade. Just post it on github and open source it. Exactly like shallot stated... There is ZERO NEED to search around and look at laws and court proce...

Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
I think the answer to this whole debacle is quite obvious... If someone wants to continue expanding on soarers work decompile it and throw it on github. If soarer wants to suddenly come back from the grave to dispute his work being expanded upon then so be it and then we will also possibly know why ...

Yeah I'm not saying decompile it and pass it off as your own, just release the source knowing it came from soarer so other people can improve it.

Guys just release the source. Like who cares, you really think some guy who is either dead or left the community all the sudden is going to care if soarer's is decompiled???

Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
First off I just wanna say I love DT. Seeing threads get derailed like this warms my heart. :P But in all seriousness I would consider Soarer's converter deprecated at this point. When I have tried to use it with modern operating systems(windows 10 for example) I run into all sorts of problems. For ...

Someone offered Jacob like 5k for his but he decided it was worth 5k to be able to jump into any thread that mentions beam springs in general or the beam ship in particular and remind us all that he has one. You can only sell it once, you can brag forever. It’s worth even more when you didn’t...

Whoever gets them, for the love of god don't sell them at whatever current market for NOS space invaders is. We have a unique opportunity to crash the market and still make a profit with how cheap these are, lets not waste it! lmao you just gave me the thought of some ebay seller with 5000 inventor...

Your alps plate spring, F122's, F107, and that omnikey are top tier eye candy. You got any more info on the paintjob for your F107? I find it interesting that you chose a gold highlight for the pen holder.

Re: IBM 3278 - a lazy restoration
Well done! I would have been clueless on how to fix the damaged keys. Nice to see you fix it regardless
Also I think the bottom pan is made out of zinc, just like the top case. I'm sure you will enjoy your 3276 much more than your 5251, as the layout is pretty much a modified TKL in my opinion.

Re: Space Cadet Keyboard on eBay
In order to reduce prices, the supply of keyboards needs to grow at a greater rate than demand, or demand needs to be reduced below the available supply. A big issue right now is that some of the older keyboards are better than the new ones. Right now there are a few hundred of these old sought aft...

Re: Space Cadet Keyboard on eBay
LMAO. Where do you think "face value" comes from? It comes from the market, which is in turn affected by people who stir up the hype on this forum by cluelessly exaggerating keyboard prices. Your "face value" logic is completely circular. That being said, I completely understand those defenders of ...
