Re: Wooting Two Lekker Edition keyboard review (Lekker Hall effect)
I don't have to imagine too hard, old frenemy. I am in the same situation! Need to work on selling a bunch of things. 'Tis easier to acquire than to sell. I played with this board for about two minutes and was underwhelmed by the build quality. I used to own a Wooting One, and it was very light ind...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I personally don't use any clamps for reassembly. In my opinion they inhibit the lateral movement of the two halves and I'll usually just grab a friend to mallet while I hold the two halves together. That's why I use paperclips - they are not too strong as to prevent the plates from sliding togethe...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
When that crap happens on my model Fs i just use some tweezers to pull the flipper back into place. Appreciate the input. I tried, but the force required to move the flipper would snap the nub off before it ever moves. I'll have to open the case if I'm going to fix it myself. I'd love to hear of th...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I have updated my post. I'm not imagining it, am I? This can't be normal. I've looked at many good condition Model Fs and the springs aren't like this. You have the same colour case as me :) I’m attaching pics of my springs. Do they look a bit straighter maybe? C80A4BD1-0AD5-4AD6-9A1A-73DE83AA8769....

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Several of the springs in my F62 (the ones that felt softer) and some of the springs included in the bag of 77 that I ordered are slightly damaged. Is this happening in transit or is this happening during production? The pearl spacebar has some kind of flashing defect on the inside of the stem, whic...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I received my F62 two days ago and it's gorgeous! I purchased an industrial grey one, but ordered a true red case to go with it, which I installed upon receiving the keyboard. I love the finish! It somehow feels rougher and more pleasing to the touch than the black F77 case. Not sure if anything cha...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Got a question to those who got their keyboards in the EU: 1) did the shipping notifications with tracking numbers come from Ellipse himself, postal/courier service, or both? 2) what service handled shipping? Your state post, or DHL/Fedex/UPC/you name it? Last year when my first order shipped, Elli...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Regarding the shipping notification emails, everyone receives one as soon as your order ships. You would receive one email per order that ships, so you may receive more than one email. What is the email address the shipping notifications come from, so I can make a filter to set high importance and ...

I can confirm it doesn't cause any issues. I believe the issues in that thread are due to early Bigfoot converter firmware or something?

Re: Hand-cut Model F XT and AT foam sheets
I made a 2mm sheet for an XT and it was a success. I think 3mm would be a bit better, but it's pretty good after adding curvature to the barrel frame.

Re: Hand-cut Model F XT and AT foam sheets
Do you do F122s? If so, I'd be interested. I'm not brave or skilled enough to replace my foam :) I need the barrel frame to be able to do it, that's until I find a way to make a robust template that I can keep using. If you are willing to send the barrel frame, I'd be happy to cut the mat for you. ...

Hand-cut Model F XT and AT foam sheets
Hi guys, who is interested in durable new foam sheets for their Model F keyboards? I am currently capable of making sheets for the AT and XT (I use the barrel frames as templates - would like to figure out how to make my own templates for every Model F so that I don't need to do this) . I mark and c...

I found BOX Navy to be the most satisfying of them all. The Noble Yellows had a nicer weighting, but the thinner click almost makes the switch like a toy compared to Navy.

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
If it's any consolation, I placed an order for an F77 assembly back in mid March but changed it to a full F62 mid-April, including a low serial number with my order. I added parts like extra springs to go in my F77 (currently disassembled) and a true red case for my F62 (just as a backup for when it...

Re: How did you found your internet nickname?
My surname, Walker = Waz mixed with "Shadrach". I don't know why, but that's the horrible nickname my mother's boyfriend gave me at the time. It's kind of cool and unique, and I'm pretty unimaginative so I couldn't come up with anything better if I tried.

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)
My 1989 6100 System Model M feels quite light for some reason. I'm enjoying using it more than my custom Bigfoot right now, and that thing feels amazing. I wonder how much better it would feel wtih a Unicomp "blanket" and a screw mod.

Not sure - but if it's not affecting operation, I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: IBM FSSK Build Log
I've tried to floss mod but it is very hard to get the feel spot on. I think greasing the springs is a better option. Interesting. I could imagine the floss mod increasing the force required for the tactile event ever so slightly. My instinct at first was to grease the springs, coming from the cust...

Re: IBM model f foam template
I'd love to know how to print these to scale onto cardboard or something. It would make my marking and hole-punching a lot easier, although everything still lines up fine the way I do it currently. Speaking of which, as much as I love the 3mm neoprene I've been using, I made my best mat yet out of 3...

Nothing is meant to be in that barrel. You could probably just twist the spring anti-clockwise to remove it safely. Don't worry!

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Here, has anybody who has the new "XT" style caps from the GB installed and tested them on a Model M? I've heard that taking actual IBM F caps and putting them on an M or vice versa can be a bit hit or miss because of different plastics (IIRC the caps are smoother but barrels are rougher on one tha...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Does this require disassembling the entire keyboard, including opening the inner assembly? That would probably be the easiest way, actually. Just make sure you do it right so that you don't mess up the feeling of the keyboard like I did when my understanding of these wasn't as good. I like to use a...
