I should have warned you about the nut driver not fitting; that is a common problem. Here is the link to the one I bought. I don't know if it's available where you are.

Re: Scratchy Model F - can you lube these?
I've had some success with relieving scratchiness (in Model Ms, not Fs) by using a damp cotton swab to clean the inside of the barrel to remove any micro particles that cause unwanted friction.
Edit: I'm not saying it won't work with Model Fs, just that I never had to try it.

Clicky Keyboards has some good videos. It's a pretty straight-forward board to work on; I've cleaned and restored a few of them. You'll need a 5.5mm nut driver to take off the four screws on the bottom-back of the board. That will let you open the case. Keys can be removed by hand or more convenient...

Katano switches Someone needs to make 'a hipro silenced orange' variant so that we can have an Ahsokatano switch... ...and then get their asses sued by Disney #worthit I smell a marketing opportunity. Disney is not shy about putting "Star Wars" on anything and everything that can be consumed.

Another shot of a Model F from Space Mutiny via MST3K. Note the conspicuously absent IBM logo:

Re: Suggestions needed for cleaning an old keyboard
Hey there,
You may want to also try a citrus based price tag gunk remover like Goo Gone. I've used it on keyboards and cables with varying degrees of success. I've seen it dissolve some synthetic rubber though, so always test before use.

Re: What Are Your IBM Model F Preferences? (XT vs AT vs 122...)
As the proud owner of an F XT, a 5155, and an F122, the battleship wins out as my favorite. It has the layout I prefer; I need Ctrl and Alt by my left hand as I use those keys extensively for 3ds Max. I also love the function cluster on the left. It's extremely versatile and a great place for macros...
