I have no doubts that if you get it to work and not strip any threads, it will work beautifully. The real question is: Does it offer any advantages? Nut and bolt appears to be the safe option to me. Less risk of problems, less need for as accurate holes, no risk of thread issues etc. I will keep go...

What are people's thoughts on 'through hole+bolt+nut' vs 'screw straight into a hole in the barrel frame'? I am currently looking to order some screws and can't decide. The 'bolt+nut and perhaps a washer as well' seems more reliable in the very long run simply because I tend to dislike threads in pl...

Well, I have some experience with metal printers :) It started here a long time ago. I stopped back then but I got a few requests recently which I will be making, and I might as well also sell some of my old prototypes. Here is a recent thread where I am collecting ideas That is a render but I have ...

...I need to find a super-high-quality industrial large ball trackball. I'm sure there's one somewhere, maybe on an old factory machine or submarine missile targeting computer. Yeah, that's what I need. or on ebay  http://www.ebay.de/itm/Trackball-50mm-Industrie-/161210980897?pt=DE_Computi...

What freaks me out the most is that American plugs don't appear cover their connectors at all. Notice the white insulated part of the pins prevents any live metal from being exposed? Only the tips of the pins are left uncovered, It prevents incidents like the one below, or stupid people attempting t...

You mention "program", and you won't have to. ISO determines the placement and sizes of the keys but the scancodes are interpreted by your oeprating system to whatever language you have it set to. Eg, a German keyboard whas an Ü where the Norwegian has an Å. Their positions are the same and they out...

I decided I am going to teach myself using one of my crappier Model M's. I have a question on what tools you use for opening the case. I didn't take my full toolbox when I moved so it turns out the only socket wrenches I have here are too wide to fit into the rather deep holes where the screw heads ...

I don't mind paying someone to do this type work because only a handful of people are up to the task of handling this type of exertion. I think it is quite easy to find people who can boltmod a board for you, but I consider that to be on a different level than a complete reconditioning like the one...

I had plans of doing the animations with a synchronized graph. The switch could be in 3D and with intersections to show the interiors. Something a bit like this: http://i.imgur.com/fApIFsZ.png Edit: Todo: Better materials and lighting, some improvements to the model, smaller and animated with a sync...

I am sad to say that I have recommended Cooler Master products to friends in the past. It turns out you are just the same type of low quality company which has to resort to gimmicky false claims aimed towards a market to young to know that they are false. Ultra low latency plugs and things which you...

Matias, Cherry MX, my private keyboard sales and Round 4 leftovers are all handled via CherryMX. Ever thought of, you know, consolidating the threads? The two threads might be kept intact but I think it could be a good idea to add the codes for the Matias switches here. People who are out to buy sw...
