I still need to restore my F122, but I prefer any F over the beamspring. A tough opponent to the F122 would be the F107, I'm still not sure which I prefer (I would need to use my F122 to actually know) Understandable, the F122 and F107 have much more useable layouts. I also find capacitive buckling...

Anyone have a quick and easy to follow guide for screw modding a Model M? I have a Unicomp to restore but I'm not sure what parts I need and I'm too lazy to look through a bunch of guides. Razor blade, dremel with drill bit, 2mm nut and bolt. Cut off broken/loose rivet, drill a hole throu...

Foam and foil for sure, I had a similar keyboard. The F&F was roasted but the caps were nice, I am currently using them on my home computer (with cherry mx switches in it)rich1051414 wrote: ↑Is that BTC foam and foil?

So is this the classic zinc F77 and the compact versions lined up in the photo? If so, the compact certainly looks a lot smaller. I am starting to worry that my love for the lovely retro solid case might end up costing me in terms of usability. I will say that the small form factor one is heavy as ...

Would love to see a beamspring compilation! The project would be big and it'll cost a small fortune to ship, but the thought of gathering as many beamspring in one video is an amazing idea. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk Yes that would be awesome. Just imagine a bunch of them in one location....

I would say that even if it is oily and smells like decomposing plastic that you should still use it. My beamsprings mat was also slick and smelled of decomposing plastic but works just fine. Really??? Idk it just seems odd to not replace it. My mat is really gross. I understand keeping it for orig...

If you look at the inside of their first run of PBT SA keycaps, ala Ice Cap and Industrial, the thickness was the same as their ABS keycaps for the bottom half of the shell, but the inner-most half was twice as thick, as if there was another "shot" of plastic molded in there, just like you'd see in...

The 60% dark gray samples also arrived and are shown below. I think it's the best we can do to have a legible legend but please let me know what you think. I'm glad that they're the right colour for some, but I'd imagined something more like the HHKB black with black legends. Back to black blanks t...

2mm Art foam seems to be the standard for replacing the degrading foam, don't get too exotic with different materials unless you want to be a guinea pig. I get mine from Michaels (there all around the US). The answer to should you pull it off and replace it is, probably. If its falling apart and sti...

a few observations. a htpc keyboard is usually (or anyway, it can be) used on the couch holding it with one hand. A middle nub is rather unpractical in that setup. Not to mention that you need mouse buttons and you should be able to drag-n-drop, scroll, and so on all holding the keyboard in your ha...
