Take a picture. Multitech is Acer, by the way - it's probably the actual microcontroller. And, the "strange" ICs probably have actual identifying marks that will help you.

Power and ground pins also tend to be at corners of the chip, by the way.

JS_4ZB0J85889 (red) and JS_4ZB0J85890 (black) are the product numbers listed. However, if Lenovo in China works like they do in the US, those product numbers are accessory part numbers, not FRUs. To compare, http://www.thinkworldshop.com.cn/pm/34483.html is the ThinkPad Bluetooth Keyboard, which is ...

I tried to nominate it last year, actually nominated it this year, and voted for it... despite not actually liking the switches it comes with.

I'm not sure what that says.

(That said, it wouldn't be too bad to convert it to Clicks, and then it'd be a quite good ergo option.)

So, hang on, last year we couldn't come up with one good full-size keyboard, and now a full-sizer (and not a KFC marketing stunt, and one of only two nominated actually) wins the combined category? :p

I'm impressed by how well the 4704 did, even with a split vote between the buckling spring entries.

Had the three entries been combined, buckling spring nearly would have had a supermajority. IBMthority indeed.

I'll admit that I hadn't seen much of Chyros's reviews before the DTAs... but after seeing them, I knew I had to vote for him.

Congrats!

I'd prefer the smaller case, myself, most likely - I'm not so much interested in these replicas as exact replicas, but rather as new-production Model Fs.

It's real, that site is Lenovo's consumer-facing online store for Think-branded products in China. (Note that the images are even hosted on lenovo.com.cn. And, if you go to lenovo.com.cn and shop for Think-branded products, you end up there.)

There's also a red case option. If I were willing to spend over $100 for a ThinkPad sticker (TEX Yodas are $199 when there's a drop for one, I believe), that's what I'd go for.

But, well, $199 is far too much for Cherry MX as it is, let alone $309.

Looks like a rebrand of the TEX Yoda, and it's not cheap, at 1,999 Yuan (US$309.76 or 282.32 Euro).

Might not have an interesting keyboard, but the Acorn A4 Notebook is a notable British computer, methinks. The ancestor of the vast majority of computers that happen to also be mobile phones today. So, the big thing with scissor stabilized switches is that the short travel makes them fast, although they tend to be decently high force. To make a longer travel keyboard faster, there's two ways to do it - drop the force, or keep actuation high (early in the stroke). Cherry MX comes in some rather...

Conversely, I felt I had to vote for the Topre analog sensing. While the PBT spacebars may well be nice... IBM was doing them for buckling spring boards, and longer than that (the original Model Fs had 12 U spacebars for crying out loud), literally 34 years ago. And, the hotswap Alps... PCB socket p...

Cherry MX's priority date was 1982-08-06, so the patents expired 2002-08-06. They're not illegal.

Still, they're Cherry MX clones, and the other choice is a rubber dome, so it really is a choice between Alps and BS.

If you're building a configuration page like a PC manufacturer's site has, you're going to need to either install an e-commerce system onto a web server somewhere, or you're going to have to write such a system or have someone write one for you.

It's flex in the middle unsupported span that makes tactility inconsistent and poor. Doesn't take much at all to throw things off. (And, IMO, the outer keys are a bit inconsistent too, wouldn't be surprised if the foam is rotten.)
