Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

As a note, mechanical keyboard meetups are now happening again in NYC. I have signed up for the next one in April. I hope to bring a new Model F keyboard as well as a new beam spring keyboard. This will be my first meetup since 2019! Hoping to see some forum members there. https://nyckeyboardmeetup...

Re: Alps Appreciation

Hello there, i wanna remove the click/tactile leaf of the Black Alps and make them linear. Now my question is, are the Black Alps without click leaf build similiar to the Green Alps? Or do the Green Alps differ significantly? thx I am not an expert, but they are similar when linearized. Green Alps ...

Re: Alps Appreciation

I have a >100 orange Alps in stock (also in reasonably good condition). What I want to try is to get a bunch of NOS switches, so I can compare them with used ones. The idea behind it is to compare the sliders, springs, etc. with the NOS and get a feel of the differences. I am not an expert in Alps s...

Re: Alps Appreciation

To get a real world idea of how much this difference manifests I will solder them into a PCB and will also put the used switches into it for comparison. W...

I couldn't replicate on my Windows 11. When I put it to sleep, I could wake it up and log-in. Could also be a BIOS thing. You might also want to flash a firmware with NKRO disabled. Some BIOS' hate NKRO.

Indeed, looks great. I love the overall configuration of it and ANSI mod. I kept the Num Pad with all individual keys as it gives me a bit more room for additional keys (as if they are needed on a F107 :)). You also did catch an F107 in good shape. I need to powder coat mine at some point.

I'm quite happy with my repro F77, too. first bought an identical F62, but realised, that i can't live with arrow keys and the delete on the fn-layer. The neat trick with the right Alt, right shift etc. as arrow keys doesn't do it for me either, since i need the alt graphic key for typing all the t...

.. Alps better sounding than Model F? Even my beloved blues aren’t there, I find (in a Focus FK-555 or solid aluminium cased Alps64). Though, as you know too, the whole keyboard affects the sound. My Kishsaver is a hop, skip and a leap ahead of my AT in The Noise department: in quality as well as q...

Re: Does anyone else feel the lack of a fullsize option ruins the Model F repro?

It is all very subjective, imho. I do own all Model F variants from Ellipse and a ton from IBM at good condition, including the F107. The quality from Ellipse is on par with the Model F from the past. The key feel is very close and the sound changes over time as it always has been. I even replaced 5...
