Re: Great/Interesting Finds
The keycaps look like signature plastics, but that doesn't really narrow down anything, because they had keycaps for nearly every single mount out there.

Re: [SHIPPED] Hua-Jie AK-CN2 Alps clones (ROUND 2)
Has anyone else received their switches yet? I'd like to get everone's feedback on them and work out improvements/suggestions. I understand that this might not be what you are looking for, because I didn't buy any, but I would say that the main improvement any alps clone could make would be to add ...

Keycaps look like the ones that are on the chicony 5160, so it could be alps. Not sure though.
The profile and the lettering are a dead giveaway. The super sharp corners too.

Re: Price Check: How much is my _____ worth?
What would dyesub or double-shot caps from a g80-3000 be worth and is there a good place to get something like that? I currently use dyesubs from a g81-1000 but alas the modifiers and spacebar, as well as the capslock don't fit because of stems and width. What do you mean that they don't fit? do yo...

Re: Dirty Alps
Basically, the cleaner you buy them, the more you stack the deck in your favour. Sure, you may score a lucky hit with a dirty board, or even a bad beat with a nice-looking one, but waiting for those pocket aces will give you the best possible chance of getting the real deal. I can confirm, it's all...

Re: IBM 5576 Keyboard
How does it feel? Without a doubt, the worst feeling board I’ve ever used. No elitism, run of the mill modern domes feel much better. Granted some of that might be related to the rubber sheet deteriorating with time. Maybe I’ll go more into detail about the story behind this keyboard later (if anyo...

Re: IBM 5576 Keyboard
Isn't this the one that was on ebay for 1,200 bucks? Quite interesting switches, looks like Keytronic Tactile foam and foil, but with an MX stem. How does the sensing work? Is it capacitive or conductive? Seems like it would be capacitive, but the ribbon cables make me think conductive. Looks like ...

Re: Found an IBM M15 with Numpad in a Dumpster
Haven't been posting much here. But... We do office moves at work often. When we do we put out dumpsters for us to recycle old hardware. I walked by one this morning, and I saw a numpad and thought "this looks interesting..." I picked it up and it looked like a M15 numpad, and I thought "no way!" T...

Well, it would appear both statements are true xD . Complicated Alps don't dissolve, simplified do xD . Only the top housings, though. Tested on; SKBM white, SKCL Yellow pine Now we need to try pine vs bamboo. Maybe they changed materials when removing the slits? https://www.keebtalk.com/t/us-ca-h-...

Judging from the caps: Some sort of alps board. Maybe a wiki/Datacomp_DFK777?
The bottom row caps are reminiscent of alps doubleshots.

From my experience, IPA in an UC is the best for a quick, deep clean. You don't really need to UC the switch plates, you can do those by hand to clear the dust off, if there is any.
