It's PBT simply because it's the short JIS spacebar.

Thanks, cactux, for the "distance" metric explanation. It is, IMHO, pretty bad. It is just another home row exaggeration. From the definition, the least distance accumulation stems from same finger usage, which is quite painful - try typing (on QWERTY) sequence of WSWSWSWSWS or WXWXWXWXWX. Anyway, d...

Actually, some keys do happen to have an effect: the cursor keys. Once a text box grabs the focus, those same cursor keys can no longer be used to scroll the page down. This is what I'd call a bit of inconvenience, as you can no longer use the keyboard to scroll. I believe I'm not the only one who ...

That's comparing apples and oranges. You actually need to log into your own private mailbox to use it, so you land on the login page. Your web-mail's login page is obviously only used for logging in, thus it makes sense to auto-focus when the user will have to do so anyway. This is different for a ...

Autofocussing is a solution looking for a problem. Huh? I mostly just check "Keep me logged in" (or whatever it is called here) and don't worry about it. My privacy policy is different, so I log each time. Personally, I mostly cuss at pages which grab the focus automatically because it stops me fro...

I just want to avoid chasing fields with the pointing device, then having to remove the cursor after moving the focus.

Don't really know what happens if it's beyond screen boundary.

I would like some more info on pink and orange ALPS, too. I got a NIB M0116 from Jim66 which has somewhat pinky switches. They are not clicky and very lightly tactile. Isn't orange ALPS supposed to be clicky? The taxi-yellow ALPS are very clicky and tactile, I was under the impression that they're w...

Olivetti rubber dome with backlight, if exists, must be the Ultimate #1 keyboard.

Rubber domes, because they're best for typing. And backlit (multi colors for special bonus points) because proper work is done in a dim room, looking at the keyboard.

Or so the Spoilutor said. He's all Pro.

There is a camouflaged surprise - a "Fn" button instead of LWin, and what appears to be media legends on the F-keys.

Younguns should be happy.

Dunno about Leopolds. I guess Holtek is cheap enough so Asian manufacturers prefer it.

Does the WASD have USB hub or something? The PCB is big enough and there's another big IC there.
