Dan, Speaking as a modest contributor to this community, I don't see how that post has helped anyone other than yourself. In that light, I hope it has given you the affirmation of your personal positions that you were seeking. Speaking as an admin of Geehack (with apologies to Deskthority), thank yo...

I wonder if they can even do a deep dish for arbitrary legends? After watching how their 2nd-shot process works, it seems like they would have to mold them differently. I have DSA on my Ergodox and they are quite nice. I'm not in love with the completely flat profile, but it does open up a lot of op...

I cleaned one with Brakleen and it sounded like a blue. Lubing the stem guides (not the slider guides) with Dupont Teflon Silicone Lubricant seems to slug the click even more, which makes sense because the same happens with blues. You can clean some of the grease out of the slider with a cotton swab...

Lysol was starting to organize a small GMK group buy. I'm not sure what happened with that. Another one started here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=39280.0 EliteKeyboards started sell red Esc keys and now sherryton has opened a new Business and is or will be selling at least 4 reproduction Che...

ps: I don't know why all these problems with paypal limits, I sent them some documentation and they waived any limitation What documentation did you send them? Here in the US, they will automatically file with the IRS if you exceed their $20k/200 transaction limit. There is no easy way for an indiv...

Maybe for RB (round blue)? Also, for the record, I understand the pickle that the folks wanting their individual language layout are in. It's just a bit tricky from the GB perspective, since the goal is to gather buying power toward a common goal. Adding a small percentage across the entire GB is de...

So you are floating the idea of subsidizing your ISO language kits with ANSI sales? I wonder how people that have already bought kits would feel about that. read closely. ISO kits would have the effect of more Europeans ordering the base kits, hence Americans would get a better price too. win-win s...

If SP does not change their mind and raises prices, shipping costs to the one who will do shipping should be way less than $1500. You need package material etc, but you could add these to the shipping costs to the members and even distribute shipping to the distributor directly on a per group buy m...

Yeah, I have no idea what Ripster is talking about. That part of the slider is not used and on the samples I measured, there was no difference in the length of the legs. I've also put a cleaned slider from a white on a blue stem and it clicked like a normal blue. I've made two ergo-white boards now....

Re: POLL: Do all your Cherry MX Blue or Green clicks?
I fixed the 2 or 3 non-clicky blues in my old Poker by taking them apart, running the back of an exacto through the grooves on the slider and cleaning up an burrs on the tabs of the stem. This fixed all but one, which took a bit more effort to fix.

Re: Round 4 / in production / leftovers for sale!
The point is that most users at DT are not interested in GH anymore, so would have no use for GEEK HACK keys. Actually, the point was that he was just researching all of the various GH keys and their source. This is relevant for R4, since it has its roots there. Obviously, no one will be coming to ...

The bottom end, I think. If you look at a blue stem, the white slider (as I call it) is what deflects the leaf spring and opens the switch. When the stem is up, it has pulled the slider into position where the leaf spring is resting in that little depression on the two fingers that hold the switch o...

Sorry...this is a cross post from GH, but there is a similar thread going on over there, so I thought I'd share my observations. Blues/greens can stop clicking for a few different reasons that I have seen. While investigating what makes white switches different, I did some experiments with blues (sw...

Re: Does this make me #2 ban on GH?
On the US side, the wheels have been turning on the subject of a nonprofit for a while now (post r00tworm). Its a lengthy process and there are still a lot of things that need to be figured out. Nothing to announce yet.

Why is everyone against paying tax. It doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me. I quite like my police and healthcare (sorry US guys, forgot you aren't a first world country yet). That's quite a tall horse you have there. It is about avoiding paying income tax on something that is not income. Tech...
