Qwerty got another lease of life when it became ingrained in touch screens, too. Think of how many people who never typed before are now at it on their phones… in staggered Qwerty! Looks like we're stuck with the oddities of typewriters until we ditch using fingers for text entry entirely. That's v...

Asking to see what people would pay for a G80-1800 HAU with the following specs: K42 date code for PCB original case, I'd give it an 8.5/10 condition, a few marks on the top portion but no yellowing, feet work great. 62g uniform vintage blacks and linear grey (these were swapped from an older, and b...

Because Japan. I really think that's one of the only sound reasons...it took a lot of work for that drop to happen. The community warned that the lack of HHKB/FC660C support would make the drop fail...Topre didn't listen...sure enough, it failed. I can only hope they will be more open-minded, but su...

G80-1800 PCB schematic?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find the schematic for the older G80-1800 PCBs, or if anyone has them? Trying to fix a short on the board...which is pretty tough without this. I've only found one for the 3000.
Many thanks in advance

Isn't Zealios switches just Gaterons with different springs, and then Zealios has exclusivity on the Cherry MX Clear equivalent stem? The purple one. As far as I could gather, the new Gateron switches now share the same housings (clear tops and semi opaque bottom). Essentially, yes. The opaque bott...

Zealios are waaaay overpriced. I bought into the Zealios to support the community initiative. It's nice to see a custom designed switch with mostly full community input. The tactiles are extremely nice, and easily one of the smoothest switches I have used lubed (even more than Gaterons). It is the ...

How much should I expect to spend on an ANSI mx5000? Either old or newer version w/Windows keys, any working condition with all keys, but of course the closer to NIB the better. Rough guideline $600-700 for NIB I think. That isn't really too bad at all (at least I think)...time to learn how to spen...

For $1500! http://m.ebay.com/itm/201498198065?_mwBanner=1 Edit: link Only! I saw that earlier, don't think this is anywhere near $1500 worth. I don't even think NIB ones are worth more than $1100... If I could, I'd make a low offer just to see what the seller's floor is. Even at $400 it'd be a barg...

To have nostalgia for a time that once was... IBM is great, but Cherry just seems special to me. Not to mention the pursuit of all of those different boards that can keep this hobby going for such a long time. You try one or two IBM boards (save for the M15 and F62), you pretty much have tried them ...

I love my fullsize, I want a battleship, but I also want to try a smaller board. First the JD40 slipped through my grasp, then i missed out on some other stuff, and the HyperMicro is on a rolling deadline. I like the idea of layers and i wouldnt mind using them extensively. For me its purely a simp...

I too cannot use full-size boards anymore. I prefer the distance between my hands and mouse, it feels a bit more "ergo" than full-size boards. That said if there were more "lefty" keyboards with numpads on the left I wouldn't be against this. I have a 60% and it's fantastic for saving space on the d...
