I haven't voted so far, but I have some thoughts on this: can these images be set to cycle as alternative headers? or maybe have new examples with the site logo and tab buttons in place? so that we can judge the overall framing better? a splash of colour is good, the happy hacking blue gives a nice ...

I guess it sucks if your layout needs that key for the backslash (and pipe, if you do any command-line stuff) and you're forced to use an ANSI keyboard. But then, key remapping should ease the pain somewhat. The ANSI layout has the \| key above enter and below back space, so that would just be ques...

I don't want to turn this into an ISO v. ANSI thread, I imagine that topic has been done to death a million times over. That said I don't really know what the fuss is re the double height enter key, or ISO requiring extra long pinky fingers. I see either enter key style as being fine and I've been w...

Do you want an ISO layout, sub tenkeyless keyboard?
The lucky folks in regions that use ANSI and JIS layouts now have a variety of nice Topre and Cherry MX keyboards to choose from, in smaller than tenkeyless format e.g. Happy Hacking, Noppoo Choc Mini, KBC Poker etc. For those of us in ISO layout regions (inc. all of Europe) we have to make a choice...

For the EU the maximum item value for gifts is €45, anything worth more than that you have to pay the full duty and VAT unfortunately. Sometimes you get lucky and don't have to pay, but it's risky to make a false declaration of the item value - if the parcel gets lost you won't be able to claim the ...

And WHAT does AltGr DO anyway? In the UK key map, it makes it easy to type € (AltGr, 4) Fairly useful given that it's used more often than $ It's an essential modifier required to create a whole lot of characters in many languages, Wikipedia lists many, and even if the accuracy isn't 100% (due to b...

99.9% of their money goes to the program vs 91.8% for the red cross Please don't use these types of numbers to compare charities, at best they are superficial and misleading, and total fraud at worst. Aside from the corruption issues, these charities are run like businesses and are competing with e...

Philips twin-eye laser was the worst sensor ever I think the Imperator uses a Philips Twin-Eye laser which is… not so good. What I know about that laser is the z-axis problem when you lift-off the mouse. This is a lot of nonsense, all started because someone posted a youtube clip of doing something...

It is surprising for a UK company selling goods to the US. I also thought the $164 US price is just the UK price ex. 20% VAT, but somehow US gets a much larger discount? Mistake maybe? I did not add useless thing to the tread. I added an idea. Your post in the old thread on geekhack was fine. You didn't do anything wrong there and ripster really didn't insult you, and he definitely was not being critical of your post. If he said "old thread" or "dead thread" instead of "necro thr...

Presently, I'm reading a classic for the first time: Frank Herbert's "Dune." I landed a hardcover at the used bookseller and have been enjoying it immensely. ...The term "necro post" is NOT meant as an insult. Ask the Europeans... OK I'll bite, maybe there is still some unnecessary ill feeling here? "necro" is not normally used on it's own. How obtuse would you have to be to create a control layout that is limited by 6KRO? I remember being huddled around an aged 'BBC Master' during breaktimes at school, playing some Gauntlet style four player dungeon hack game. Up/down/left/right/attack for each player, maybe a magic button as well? Th...

...ml switches... tend to stick if you dont hit them exactly center on the keys... I didn't know that, it's pretty shabby. Key sticking shouldn't happen on a $20 basic keyboard, so very disappointing that the 'budget' mechanical switch would be that way. I occasionally look on eBay for a cheap G84-...
