Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Just about shat myself thinking this might have been a beamspring from the looks of it. It was not, however.

Unfortunately, the eBay seller that listed them doesn't have any more. I think y'all are out of luck unless you wanna try to buy em from Zrrion, though I don't think he's selling.

That's a good price for those NOS SMK switches, IMO! I would spring on that myself if I hadn't just obtained a board full of em!

Re: PSA: don't buy hard drives from Amazon

Sometimes I feel like I'm riding on a bed of coals with my choice of data storage. My main drive on my PC is a refurbished 3TB Hitachi I bought on Amazon. It was actually packaged securely, and has been working fine for a year and a half now. But I know the writing on the wall. These things were not...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Idk what they normally go for, I grabbed 2 for a reasonable price. Hopefully at least one has orange, I can swap one out for orange if I need to but not both. I wasn't planning it when I bought them, but since they should both get here valentines day I think I'll make a matching set for my partner ...

Would anyone know what this came from and what switches they would have? https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/II4AAOSwf95cWInJ/s-l1600.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/zx8AAOSwvERcWInZ/s-l1600.jpg Comes from a Macintosh Portable. Ortholinear? Got some pics? Glancing at the Wiki, Datadesks look to be standard stagger.
It isn't a Switchboard but an ADB ergonomic keyboard. I will get pictures later. It's not fully ortholinear but it is definitely partially so.

Re: WTS/WTT Some vintage stuff.

Just got the Datadesk today. Pleasantly surprised with the switches and build quality. Man, you're right, that layout really is something. I didn't expect it to be so weirdly ortholinear. It is comfortable though.

Re: Not Sure I'm Happy with Cherry MX...

Best thread ever :) At least with the Model M you have a very active custom scene and support for virtually endless layouts. It‘s also such a genius design, companies all over Asia started cloning it once the patents expired. Your disingineous argument wins the "lost R" prize. R is an imp...

Re: Not Sure I'm Happy with Cherry MX...

Ya know, this thread seems to be one of the more heated I've seen on DT in my time here. And Elrick isn't even involved yet! I say it's high time that we get to the point where we can agree that we all like and dislike different switches and keyboards, and what may be bad to some may not be bad to o...

I look forward to seeing how this cleans up, snacks!

(And sorry to take away any focus from the thread, but I have my plans for that Datadesk Ergo keyboard that zrrion was selling also! It may or may not have to do with a certain group buy going on)

Re: Not Sure I'm Happy with Cherry MX...

I always wonder why anyone would want a clicky keyboard - do you fear not noticing you're typing? This is a pretty controversial opinion of mine but I think clickies were a thing of the past that should stay in the past. It is really unessisary and I don't understand why anyone would want a repetit...

Re: Not Sure I'm Happy with Cherry MX...

I was happy with my Model M switches until refurbishing my first Model F XT (which I got for $19). Now the Model M feels scratchy. Of course, the native XT layout leaves much to be desired for many folks. Compromise is a four-lettered word in my book. Black Alps have arguably the worst feel of any ...

It seems that no one is as lucky as Chyros. However, I suspect his apparent luck is actually a product of his skill, patience, and perseverance. Well, and in part having a cooperative electronics recycler to visit. Granted, it probably took skill to foster the relationship to where he could buy the...

Re: [H] Sharp PA-1000 w/ SKCL Greens [W] Plate-mount MX-style switches, SA keycaps

Alright! I've got 101 Gateron Reds, and ~100 Outemu Blue switches. I also have ~60 something Box Royals and Kailh Pale Blues. However, I also have a set of PBT SA 3/3/3/3/4/4 with lasered legends. I think I can arrange a trade for this!

Let me look through my stockpile of MX-compatibles to see what I've got enough of.

I'm very interested in this!
(I won't be able to see the stockpile until tomorrow but I want to get the post out in the hopes that you can wait to see what I can offer)
