Indeed. I don't get how people can eat waffles with maple syrup and butter, though.
Over here we eat thinner waffles, but with cloudberry jam and whipped cream.

Neat! Looks like IKEA carries cloudberry jam in the US.

The Round Rock IKEA is 12 miles away. I need to go there anyway to get the kids some toys.

Apparently not just "a bit of jam":
Key features
- Organic; includes no artificial ingredients or preservatives.
- No chemical pesticides or fertilizers have been used.
- These wild growing berries have been picked under fair conditions for the pickers.

Maple syrup yes (if its the genuine stuff)

Butter? No , just no.

If you want jam use real jam , blackberry jam. Preferably home made. Home made honey would be nice too, i need to get a house with a big garden so i can keep bees.

I prefer raspberries to cloudberries. Other than that I completely agree. Butter!? Yuck!

Cloudberry seem a bit exotic here in central Europe and further south.
:ugeek:

So, let's say with any kind of jam and a bit of poudered sugar, but surely no butter or syrup.
:-)

I recommend blackberry jam:

My Russian friends prefer pancakes and waffles with strawberry jam and sweetened condensed milk (sguschonka).

Around here waffles tend to look like this.

Yep. Cloudberries have never been successfully cultivated. All cloudberries have to be picked in the wild.

Because it is a wild species the kernels are a bit prominent, though.

I've never had waffles before. They are not very common here -- most people prefer pancakes or pikelets. I love Reubens though :)

Yeah! You could put the contents of a Reuben between two slices of cardboard and I'd still eat it! :D

Man, I haven't had waffles in ages. That iron is too damn funny though.

I take mine with either saskatoon berry jam and sliced bananas or honey and sliced bananas, myself.

That reminds me, I've actually got some frozen waffles around here somewhere. Fairly good ones, too. I'd dig 'em up and make a waffle right now, but it's 2:30 AM.

I tried the cloudberry jam yesterday evening (not on waffles, on its own). It is delicious.

Be sure to top it with a Clack :) BS must stick easily into the pastry.

My sister sent me a picture of these waffle irons when she knew I liked keyboards.
