The two on my list:

IBM Model M 1397000 (they seem to have all vanished)

IBM Model M industrial SSK
̶I̶B̶M̶ ̶M̶o̶d̶e̶l̶ ̶M̶ ̶1̶3̶9̶7̶0̶0̶0̶
Well, I can cross that off my list.
Interesting how it happened, believing I would never find one I jumped on a Lexmark 1369986, so of course two months later a seller on eBay shows up with a few of the IBM 1397000, so I bought one.

Having both to compare if I had to choose only one to keep it would probably be the Lexmark 1369986, they are that well made.

Congrats!

I also very recently picked one up myself from Ohaimark's collection.

Beam spring or Capacitive Buckling Spring in a full 101 or 104key ANSI layout.

I really like my F77 New Model F, but dedicated keys for ~ and Function keys are more important to me than just the size of the board on the desk.
It makes me so happy to say that this comment has aged like milk. These were also my unobtanium, specifically the buckling springs.

They're on the way... if you can pay :D

Maybe 20 years down the road, given their niche appeal and high initial cost (and that nobody will be willing to sell theirs), they'll be true unobtaniums again. Then your comment will have aged into a fine cheddar while this one became sour milk.

It’s time to revisit this thread; my current unobtanium is a sleek big-bezel (Exent/S7 Elephant) modern board with a nice case color, with hotswap PCB, underglow lighting and a 65-80% layout … ideally one that doesn’t include keys immediately to the right (ie. without a gap) of Backspace, Enter etc.

Exent is probably the closest to this right now, but they’re impossible to find (in one of the nice case colors) and they apparently had QA problems with the PCBs, so it feels like a risky investment even if one did turn up for sale.

Still, if any of you has an Exent you’re willing to part with, I have ~$600 with your name on it.

I regret not accepting an offer for a mint black FK-2001. If someone wants to sell one hit me up!
