Having registered with DT a year ago, obviously you missed a lot of what commonly happened here
before all you youngsters with $ signs in your eyes started flooding the site.

You went full capitalist and made enemies along the way. Also welcome to the court of public opinion.

The situation should have been better managed which is evident. So supposedly people claimed piles or areas which had been there for months? Seriously that place looks to be a disaster. That shit should have been picked up in a timely manner. Even staging or sorting items would probably be nearly impossible. One problem with random people coming to CR is that everyone pretty much has varying and competing levels of self-interest. Some to collect, some to cash-in, some a bit of both. Without a collective goal or association between individuals this will undoubtedly create friction between people. It's always a good feeling to see others get the things they need or want while also ending up with some awesome loot. I like to think of this hoard like a rich chocolate cake. There is plenty but too much will make you sick.

Also note that vintage computer collectors already LOATHE us entirely and this only reinforces this attitude to a new level. Some won't even give me the time of day yet I also have my own collection and keyboards can be a gateway to vintage computers and terminals. I've yet to have someone contact me for a missing keyboard for some esoteric system. I know I've inadvertently taken keyboards from systems but I've literally came across so many loose boards where systems were already scrapped before I came along. I imagine the sight of seeing someone taking a pile of keyboard trophies really put some off and would be in their interest to not have that kind of competition. Oh look there is something missing from my pile that was sitting unguarded for a month. It must be that one guy. Next thing you know rumors start and the story starts to take a life all it's own.

Not the first story of shady warehouse raids I've heard. You really should wonder why nobody wants to deal with you twice.

Also keep in mind that stealing is criminal, doesn't matter if the people trust you and there are piles of boards. Only makes it worse if anything.

kbdfr is alone in the most ancient category, I think that I am the 2nd oldest after him with a lone companion in the next slot.

I used to think that I was the oldest active member of GH, but typo may be even older than kbdfr.

Let's see how "guilty" Red is.
  • Zero evidence of "thefts" or other issues.
  • No CCTV footage of "thefts"
  • All claims of wrongdoing are by Justin or anon accounts.
  • No actual investigations by law enforcement or private investigation has been done
  • Warehouse is a massive wreck with no possible way of inventory control
  • Justin Scott massively overreacted to minor and unintentional mistakes by OP (may have OCD or similar, trust me I have it too)
  • Justin Scott seems to be upset that his dad's(?) $5-10 "junk" of his collection actually turned out to be worth something
  • Justin Scott and others in VCFED ageist towards young persons ("keyboard kid")
  • Justin has no evidence that the Apple IIC or other stuff Red has were actually in CR to begin with.
  • Vintage computer community already has irrational hatred of keeb community.
But hey, that's just a theory, a keyboard theory.

This thread may have included a bit too much information as I think some have misinterpreted it as some sort of plea for acceptance or help in dealing with computer reset. I accepted long ago that I wouldn't get back in the warehouse. The point of the thread is to address the stealing accusations.

From what I have seen, all these rumors have been spread by one person(same account as exemplar and ThrowRA) which I wasn't sure of before I made this thread. Considering his claim about CCTV footage will never be backed up, I'm less worried about the rumors now. If he really thinks I stole from computer reset, he should call the police.

Also, I truly doubt Justin Scott or any of the organizers have anything to do with the theft rumors.

I also understand that most people here don't want anything to do with drama, and would rather continue talking about keyboards. I do apologize to all in the thread for bringing my problems to deal with here, but this was something that bothered me greatly and didn't want to do nothing about it. This was also the forum I sold most of my early finds from Computer Reset on, so I felt this was the place to address the rumors.

Thanks for all the feedback. I will continue growing and running redmarket while providing the best deals possible.

I am working with the previous owners of Computer Reset to begin legal action. Not going to give away our evidence online.

Finally someone said it. It is practically impossible to prove that someone is innocent, except in a dystopian future where we are watched 24/7. That said, if the OP is guilty of something, let those who accuse him take the trouble to give concrete evidence in this regard and not just testimonies.
All of this is stupid from the start.

Eh, I may have philosophical differences (which is kind of sad because we're talking about e-waste aka literally garbage).

But that being said, I don't think any actual stealing happened. At least based off of the info available.

No legal ground other than "bad kid took keyboard and made money".

Ethics wont cut it in court - if it even gets to there.

Sounds like a worthwhile project as the world is under the clutches of a pandemic.

Also in defense of Red I present the Chewbacca Defense

You stole this from Computer Reset. We are calling the police.
And here is the profile of the hero who posted that:

I have reported the post and expect both it and the profile to disappear soon.
As previously expressed, I don’t quite appreciate Redmaus’ mercantile approach.
However, the theft accusation put forward against him indeed looks like an orchestrated attempt to harm his reputation.

I've hesitated to even comment on this thread, but honestly the crusade against Redmaus is nothing short of juvenile. I don't know the facts so I can't pass judgement on any of the parties involved, however the fact that new accounts here have been created to purposefully spam our forums is unacceptable. I have vintage systems of my own so I understand the missing-keyboard conundrum but that's no excuse to bash on this community who have done nothing to those at CR.

This is the organizer, but he is not the same person as throwRA and has nothing to do with the stealing accusations.

Pls don't harass him or whatever, it wouldn't accomplish anything. Thanks to Abraham for removing the link :)

EDIT:
Also as for this thread, I think it's pretty much run its course. ThrowRA is full of shit and if he comments on my mechmarket posts I'll inform the mods of the slander. If he really had any proof of anything it would be displayed. He's clearly someone with too much time on his hands and is butthurt he missed out at Computer Reset.
