I took it down. Sorry. I know Mu would not have chosen that one anyway. I wasn't happy with it either. I'll take another shot at it tomorrow. Nice photekq. Your super close ups make for good header images! They're sooo smooth.

I like the first one! The second one is not bad either but something doesn't seem quite right.

The composition works nice but the bokeh is a bit distracting...

Was a random order from Pimpmykeyboard as my old space bar was bent a little bit.

The second one's out of focus, that's what's not quite right.

The first one is better, but I think it would work a lot better with greater depth of field (less bokeh, higher f/number) as there's just a slim bit that's not deep in blur. A nice enough effect, but distracting as a site graphic.

I'd like to see Photekq do that macro-tube trick to a cap with a DT legend! Maybe try on a mod with more text on it… these single letters seem to want to spell something out of outsized significance, but don't.

You're right, I'll have to try it on a modifier.

Chzel's boxed SSK shot gave me an idea… Some more space at the left of the picture would make this task much easier!

I'll try adding a black extension and see if it works…

Maybe. I'm not a fan of dim images though. They don't look moody to me, they just look like they need a levels boost!

Looks good to me. The box corner slides right in front of the bowl of the R in DESKTHORITY, which is a nice accident. Anyone got better ideas or do I make this live?

Improved versions are indeed welcome. I'll swap it out for a better one if it shows up. My 13 year old version of Photoshop isn't pretty at that kind of work. Perhaps I'll try a blur to get rid of those details, but enough fiddling for me for now!

I took the darker version of the picture though.

It's a lot more subtle, I like it. Maybe it'd be better if the gradient was a bit more gradual?

Well the problem I have with it now is that it does not look like a box (the packaging) anymore. And it's a little too dark. I'll take another shot at it later today.

I think that it does look like a box, after all you can see the cardboard structure. All in all, I think it is rather up to the task. As Madhias said, it's a good crop that works well with the DT logo.

I quite like it that way, seebart.
