Something with casinos, http://i.imgur.com/8P4oEZP.png . Not sure why someone would bother spamming and not leave a URL or anything though.

He does, in the title: herp.derp and derp.herp.
Perhaps we should spam him as well

Just don't bother replying to other spam topics. It makes cleanup more dificult for the moderators.

Guessing there are no admins on to block / delete threads.

THIS!

I just deleted the fucker and all his posts. But you guys have kept some of them alive. Including quotes and links. This seems to happen most every time. Quit it! Kbdfr's PM was the only useful response.

Time to think about more mods again. I think I know a few candidates…

Never reply. Just PM a mod.

I spent way more time herp derping you guys than deleting the spammer!

I reported a few posts though, I thought that notified the entire moderator crew rather than just one person.

Or is a PM still more visible than the "action needed" button?

A thread I wanted to report had already been reported, I reported another one.

But seeing the spammer had been continuously opening new threads for more than an hour and still was, I chose to PM a mod. matt3o had last visited DT yesterday evening, Muirium just one minute ago, so for him I went :D

I would report the spam to his host/domain name provider, i am guessing we could also provide them with logs if they needed it

Actually, your PM (and its notification email) was my alert to all this. I hadn't visited DT yet for the day. And as k browse the forum via the Spy it's amusing to think you thought I was around but hadn't noticed! The timer was wrong. I'm lazy and have concurrent browser sessions here and there. One of my computers was at DT but I was not.

Anyway, we need more mods. That spammer was nightmarishly prolific and had the forum to himself for hours by the look of it.

That seems to have been the problem in this case. We therefore need one mod per major timezone. We need to be prepared globally for this. :ugeek:

I'm nagging Webwit about fresh moderator appointments. I have a few good people in mind.

Edit: He tells me to go nag Matteo about fresh moderator appointments. Okay…

Look out everyone! Mu is in Scottish housewife mode!

Edited because I said British and realized immediately how massive my foot-in-mouth would have been.

Scottish housewives tend to be gingerer, way less Tory, but still just as mean as their southern sisters. What really sets them apart is the way they'll tear you apart! Home is NO place for patience!
