I know most use a dedicated client, but casual users might be more comfortable with the fancy Kiwi IRC.

What do you think if we switch to https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/deskthority ?

Also (old argument here) should we call it "Chat" instead of "IRC"?

The Kiwi client looks good! Much better than the current one. I'm in favour of using it.

I don't have much of an opinion about chat vs. IRC. I think it was mentioned in the DT club meeting...

The Kiwi client looks nice, but always tells me "You are banned from #deskthority. Cannot join channel (+b) - you are banned" instead of joining the channel. Joining on the old web client and on Chatzilla works fine, though.

one of the ops banned the whole kiwiirc, not sure if on purpose or by mistake. now I can't reach him and I'm not op there.

I joined just fine so maybe it's solved already.

I've got ops on the IRC channel, so let me know if you need some help matt3o. I can give you op too if you're registered, but can't add permanent ops to you since I'm not the channel creator.
