Hashtags could spiral out of control quickly. Here's my suggestion: post your hashtags here and I'll maintain a list of them. Then, before posting, people can check here to see what other users have tagged in the past.

When referring to switches, I suggest using #mxclear for example, tagging keyboards linked/presented here that have a corresponding switch. Maybe something like #bluealps helps bring together all blue alps switches keyboards.

How about a Wiki page instead? This way there's a standard place for it and you won't have to do a search to find this thread.

But will it show the hashtag links properly? That is the question. Part of having them located here is making the search functionality useful inside the forum area.

Would it be possible to include most popular hashtags (and additionally, most popular searches too I guess) in a sidebar on the index page, maybe with a link to a list of all hashtags (like this one)? This list feels a little hidden away being in a DT Talk page and all.

It wouldn't be easy to have that automated. Now it's just text in posts, there's no mechanism which counts the hashtags and keeps track of use.

Yeah. You'd need to design some some of webpage crawler, almost search engine like, that triggered on hashtag links.

Maybe I can talk some of my Computer Science friends into developing something. They love bots.
