I have received the first few mats for the Model F AT and I must say - neoprene and cutout looks good. Once I have time to get my Model F AT taken apart, I will let this forum know how it went.
Update: Got them from https://snijlab.nl/en/ for a very good price

The size as Unit is correct - sadly all of the companies here expect 1 unit = 1mm

Update:
Fits like a glove and the material is spot on (2mm neoprene). My F AT should be good for 25+ years now.

For all my IBM Model F restorations (XT, AT, F122) I use 3mm neoprene foam with great results. Yes it is harder to compress the plates but totally worth it as it feels even all over and not hollow in the middle rows.

I have a video on my YouTube of my AT with the 3mm foam and a full floss mod check it out if you want to see how the 3mm neoprene foam the makes the keys sound.

Not planned of selling them - I might will in the future. I will test 3mm neoprene first and give my feedback.

Did you get the foam laser cut or manually? Do you have dxf files available for each?

I would be in ! I've done very average work on mine years ago.

I cut all the foam manually and used a leather hole punch to make all the holes for the barrels.

Anyone got a pattern for a blue switch 3178? I'm expecting I'll have to do that job.

I need to test them out still, but I am working on individual foam gaskets for each barrel. They should have the advantage of being layout agnostic so that you could make a lot of them and then be good for any F that you happen to get. I'm waiting on getting them from the friend who cut them but I'll for sure start a thread about how well they work once I am able to test them out.
