Are SMK Vintage switches supposed to be even remotely smooth? These aren't in any event, and the build quality (plastic used in the cross) looks lower than on pics of SMK Vintage switches.
Yep, those are the switches! In fact not just the switches - those keycaps are the same design too, with the square front and rounded back, and same font.
Looks like a Philips board then.
Any idea what kind of system they came from, and what that DIN-19 connector might talk? I recently made my own controller for an Osborne Variant 1 with 20 pin connector - that just passively fed the key matrix out of the cable. If this did the same it should be easy to get something hooked up. However there seems to be a bit more logic on this board than on the Osborne.
In my experience, the ones that I have had have not been very smooth. It's also entirely possible it's one of the dozen or so clones of the SMK design that exist. And I have no idea what that DIN connector might speak. It's probably a weird, proprietary protocol.

It looks like Mitsumi mechanical, a light and smooth switch also used in the Amiga 1000.

Very possibly some kind of Mitsumi and square Mitsumi mount, but the slider is different from the
Mitsumi standard mechanical with Mitsumi-mount that I have seen.

Most likely yes, but the slider is different and it has a weird version of the skinny green Alps. I saw the same switches in some Mitsumi-made keyboards, so they can be an undocumented variant.
At this point I don't really know if I want it, vintage computers are so cool but the hobby itself is quite expensive and I don't really know what to do with a national version of an MSX BASIC.

I got the photo of the switch, mount looks cherry MX compatible but it definitely is not mx switch, my guess right now is that switch is variation of slider with rubber dome, or some clone - Can anybody confirm my suspicion.
Seller says that it have nice click (maybe he means sound of bottoming out), and it is definitely not a futaba switch.

Hi, For fun I called the Westrex International Office in Boston. Took quite a few tries to get a human. They seem to just maintain POS printers and are a tiny size compared to before. Not sure how many people even work there.
The guy at Westrex said that they closed their keyboard manufacturing facility 15 years ago and have no documentation about their keyboards.
What he did say though was that they manufactured almost every part of their POS keyboards in-house.
He wasn't able to say what parts were made in house and what weren't though.
My guess is they did not make at least the keycaps.
If you acquire the board, I am now very curious as to what is inside.

Thanks. I bought two and noticed that the second one with the red markings on the keycaps had a peculiar placed escape-key, but as far as I know that's not really indicative of anything. Buys like these are usually a gamble, but that's part of the fun…

A friend of mine had a board like the top two ICLs and it felt mushy, linear and unlikable.
(he liked it though)

I have a Cromemco C10 (sadly, no floppy drives). I'll see if I can take a look at the keyboard tonight.

The oak membrane is a very nice switch. Dont look at the name, I have two boards with this type switch and they're all very smooth linear.
