This thread is TL;DR and confusing, with emotion and logic interspersed in random ways.

I will comment on the short quote above: there are injustices all around the world, large and small, and a person has a right to identify and attempt to correct them.

My personal belief is that people fall into categories of "predators" and "cooperators" and that it is almost inevitable that cooperators consider predators to be amoral and probably evil, while predators consider cooperators to be naive and probably weak.

By the way, the "it's not worth the trouble" argument does not sound like you have really studied psychology,

Let's put it this way to make it easier to understand:

I as a common regular guy doesn't possess much knowlege of electronics, althougn I know how to choose a mobilephone or laptop but there is no way for me to understand let alone design an IC like Soar's converter kit or something like that, even though you post the whole set diagrams here and give me instructions right? Unless you are some sort of Genius ,usually it takes years of study and training to be an electronic engineer right?. Likewise, a common regular guy doesn't have much knowlege of psychology, mass behaviorial analysis, principle of politics and religion nor history of human being as a whole, most westerners' knowledge of Chinese history are even more limited...that's ok, just like I don't know much about electronics which is completely okay for a regular guy.

So it's almost impossible to clear things up in one single thread by posting serveral replies, why bother then? It's bound to be in vain. It takes serveral hours or days or even longer to clean a keyboard up and restore it, it's even more troubsome to convert a model F XT to make it work on a modern pc; it's simply not realistic to convert people's mindset, ideology by posting servral replies here...

If you believe muslims are all evil and potential terrorists then you will accept the war against them is a war of justice, but if you are really willing to spend some time to know their history and what's going on there then you will find another answer...How could a culture allows men to have 4 wives not be evil, but maybe a muslim is thinking:"then how could a culture let people mess around before and after marriage not be evil." it's just different people have different ideology tradition and tolerance level to different aspects of life. People are constantly trying to justify themselves by tarnish others...it's typical like a textbook. and the things going on here in this very thread is typical...even the trolling techniques are amature cliches which makes me lose interests a little bit...it has zero nourishment nor it has any impact on me...

EDIT: I recommend reading more about history and psychology to have a better understanding of human being as an indivisual and as a whole...of course it takes years...but it's worth it. This is all I can say for now. If you don't mind I'd like to watch a movie first......

Since this thread has ready become political...for those who are interested:

Here are some screen shots from the English movie ”The Remains of the Day”, I think it illustrates the essence of western democracy in a rather clever way.

The democracy some folks feel so proud of is in fact a system full of bugs, that’s how people like Hitler, G.W.Bush, Trump sized power, they know the game and they know the bugs. If those guys were your neighbors you probably wouldn’t talk to them; it’s embarrassing, not because of weird mustache or dubious blond hair, but because of “build up a wall to keep Mexicans out.” (seriously dude?) However, somehow, these guys become leaders anyway, who wield power on behalf of you; at least namely, they represent what you think and what you want, isn’t this ironic?

Totalitarian?
Suppose, you need to go to the hospital to have an operation. Do you find a bunch of random pedestrians to vote for the operation plan or do you let the doctor decide, this doctor might not be the best(means he is better than some doctors and worse than some others) but surely he is better than the bunch of random people in street. Do you call this doctor totalitarian? let the professionals deal with the jobs they are knowledgeable of what’s wrong with that?

Democracy or Totalitarian(for lack of a better term) both systems have pros and cons, and both are far from perfect, it’s ignorance and a cliche to insist that one is better than or superior to the other.

Phrase ”history repeats itself” is fully explainable due to the development of research on modern social science and psychology. There are patterns and limitations of human nature.

@Mr.Nobody
Now that’s an interesting post, as it again shows the condescending tone of those who, like yourself obviously, consider themselves an elite with a kind of "natural entitlement" to lead others.

Let’s read again the text contained in the pics you posted:

- My good man, I have a question for you. Do you suppose the debt situation regarding America factors significantly in the present low levels of trade?
- I'm sorry, sir, but I am unable to be of assistance in this matter.
- Perhaps you'd help us on another matter. Do you share our opinion that M. Daladier's recent speech on North Africa was simply a ruse to scupper the nationalist fringe of his own domestic party?
- I'm sorry, sir. I am unable to help in any of these matters.
- You see, our good man here is "unable to assist us in these matters". Yet we still go along with the notion that this nation's decisions be left to our good man here and a few millions like him.

What is shown here is aristocrats asking a servant about his opinion, and taking his polite escaping as a proof he has no clue. Of course they do not even put into question whatever opinion they themselves may have.

So the scene you posted by no way "illustrates the essence of western democracy in a rather clever way", as you put it - instead it shows conceited people believing that they know better just because those over which they have power do not dare give an honest answer. That’s a point you of course know, as expressed in a previous post where you justified censorship.

Obviously you belong to the cast of those modern aristocrats, be they called "King", "Führer", "The Party" or whatever.

How we enjoy our tales of irony!

Here's a piece questioning democracy which I happened to read today, by an American economics professor, who inevitably takes it on with a spot of game theory. Our system is definitely open to critique:

http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk ... -democracy

Yet to paraphrase Churchill: it's flawed, for sure, but we haven't found a better alternative to democracy. It's rough, cyclical, and maddeningly inconclusive at times. We take steps back as well as forward. And yet look at how far we have gotten these last hundred years. As Martin Luther King (and others) said: the arc of history is long but it heads towards justice.

Indeed, the best thing about free and open societies is that we can discuss these things in all terms without fear. This very kind of discussion is the canary in the coal mine. The first hint that we've lost our rights will be when we cannot discuss any further.

Just look at those people. Are they muslims? Are they the victims of communism or some totalitarian government? Don't they have the opportunity to express themselves in a civilized way? Why they fight? For human rights? Aren't they from democratic western countries? Why are they still so angry and violent to each other? Just because some are supporters of one football team others are supporters of another team? Where is their reason? Why a football match ended up like this...why ordinary people become mobs? Think about it.

You don't give your car key to a 7 years-old boy and put him behind the wheel why? Is it because you want to deprive him of the right of driving a car? NO, on the contrary, you want to protect him, you know otherwise the consequence might be desastrous... All men are created equal is an ideal of human being but not a reality yet, the reality is if you give some kind of right or freedom to common people( which seem a rather noble action and is out of good will) however the result is almost for sure calamitous. I recommend a book by French psychologist, anthropologist and sociologist Gustave Le Bon "The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind" if you are interested. and I recommend a German movie which at the start looks like a cheap political parody but then turns out a profound movie(and funny as well), this movie explains pretty well how those politicians manage to fuck their people by taking advantage of the flaws of human nature and contemporary democracy.

This movie:

Your posts are quite "abstract" in many ways. You mention Hooligans? Hooligans fight because they are addicted to their rage and violence. Then you mention some movie about the austrian psychopath / drug addict Hitler that I don't need to watch. The fact that "politicians manage to fuck their people by taking advantage of the flaws of human nature and contemporary democracy" is quite well known and happens frequently, that is correct. Again I do not see what that has to do with your original post here? Any political agenda has no place at DT in my opinion. As you know we are not part of the chinese unitary communist state here. Psychology is not political ideology, that's a very a primitive equation. You should start to think more about your posts here, you are a noob here.

We're basically living in total peace ...

It's just that today's conflicts are under a magnifying glass ... and progress much slower, they are just so ... present.

Omaha beach took more American lifes in one day than the 13 years War on Terror in Afghanistan.
