Hello mpereiro,

what kind of IBM Model F is that exactly you have? Is there a sticker on the back? That connector looks like the one on my bigfoot. Show us a picture of the keyboard if you're not sure.

I think it's a bigfoot.

Wow that's dirty.

Can't find the exact pinout, but I know I have seen the board pinouts for where the connector goes into the controller board. Regardless of connector, you have ground, data, +5 and clock pins on that connector on the inside. If you want the easy route, remove the old cable, put in a USB and hook up the Teensy inside, soldiering the pads to the board-end of the original cable.

Someone have the pinout?

Yeah, going to be doing just this for a Model M.

If you have a meter, you can do a continuity test for the individual pins on the original cable to clock, ground, 5v and data and build a box for the connector end (if you want to keep it 100% stock). But that requires a meter. And receiving connector. And a box to put all the jazz in. And that all assumes the cable is in good enough shape.

The cable is perfect and gives continuity. With the pin board I think I solve my problem. I wanted to keep the keyboard intact so I would build an external box for the usb.

Thank you very much for the help

Great thread. I am restoring and modding one of these Bigfoots as well. The arduino info is definitely useful.
