Olivetti L1 ANK 1426 / Olivetti Snap-Action / L1 Operativo MOS

This is the Olivetti L1 as shown by HaaTa years ago. The interesting part are the Olivetti snap-action switches that have nothing in common with the other shitty Olivetti switches and are more like Alps SKCP series the Alps "plate spring" very nice in feel and sound. I'd estimate 35g with a nice "light" almost faint clicky feedback smooth actuation.

The keyboard itself is for a workstation from the early 1980's called L1 Operativo MOS (Mulitifunctionbal Distributed Systems) when harware like that cost a fortune. Only companies or Universities could afford those beasts ranging in the tens of thousands of $$$.

Wow nice find Seebart. I remember Haata's[0] and yours looks to be in very nice condition. Looks like an incredibly well built keyboard, I suppose it should be for the fortune it probably cost. If only the keycaps didn't seem so prone to yellow strangely.

Thanks my friend, I need to upload the video of the switch. Quite nice in feel and sound much like Alps plate spring.

Very nice. Was this keyboard pulled from a missile silo? I imagine the 3 keys needed to be turned at the same time to launch.

Hey thanks man. No I don't think it sat in a silo but who knows...like I said the switch is the most interesting part about it really. I'll upload my meager video soon.

Here's the video of the Snap Spring switch, for some reason the sound is really faint sorry about that.

Really Great sounding board and what a find. Are the locks just wafer locks or proper pin tumblers?
