I have recently got my hands on a Model F and have been working to restore it. Just wondering if you guys have any good techniques for cleaning up the top case, as so far soap and water haven't been able to fully clean it. I have heard of using a magic eraser before but I am scared of damaging the case.

Avoid abrasives which can shine up the texture. I try soap and water first, then alcohol. If those don't work, then a stronger solvent like naptha but be very careful there. Test it in a hidden place to ensure that you are not dissolving the plastic.
Last, you might try a pencil eraser, but that is moving into the territory of abrasives.

Ultrasonic cleaning is the best non-abrasive way of doing it if you have a local shop willing to do it for you.
