Is this a NCR branded G80 with vintage blacks or could it have Alps Skcl Green?
It has blacks

Thanks! I also found this one: Seller says it doesn't click.. Some weird variant of Fujitsu leaf spring?

Nope, it's Fujitsu peerless switches. Fujitsu leaf spring switches have a soft tap sound when the switch actuates.

That does look like FLS 3rd gen though. (and there are linear FLSs, right?)

They're clicky Fujitsu Leaf Springs. One of my white whales. Lalaland124, I'd buy it from you.

BTC 5121, can't seem to find anything about this particular model. I'm assuming BTC dome with sliders but I'm not 100% on this.

Membrane. Not even a dome w/slider (which are good).

Decent, huh? I've heard good things about BTC but I've never been sold on membrane keyboards since almost every one I've tried is mushy

This is a membrane based variant of fujitsu leafspring. I have one of these boards, and it is among the worst variants of FLS that I tried, linear and light, short travel of only about 3.2mm, strange bottom out feel.

Now that I look at it more, there are 2 styles of desktop keyboards Fujitsu made for different vendors and this is in the "Sanyo style" with the cable coming from the left, the flat ridge at the top, bumpy case texture, and gentle slope at the front bezel. Then there is the more common "Tandy style" with the cable coming from the middle, bumpy ridge at the top, grooves in the left and right side, a bigger front bezel, and a thicker hollow bottom.

Generally, the Sanyo version is better built with 3mm thick ABS caps instead of PBT and a steel back panel instead of plastic. However, there is not much known about it the Sanyo version. The XT version came with the MBC-16 Plus and I do not know which computer the AT version came with. I found this video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYxV_8kXn3o.

Here is a gallery comparing the differences of the two styles: https://imgur.com/a/EWsBJ5W

Does anyone know what kind of switches the keyboard of the Tulip Compact 1 can come with?

Image

Does this keyboard have some weird protocol or can it be used with Soarer's converter?

Tulip generally comes with cherry switches. But I couldn't tell you without seeing the switch.

While I am most probably right that this doesn't have Alps switches, I also checked and there's a good probability that this thing probably doesn't speak AT or XT.

It's probably why the listing for it was cheap

My gut says foam and foil, like the C3 Maestro controllers. Caps are doubleshot but the switch feel will be poor.

There's a couple of threads with vague info on the internals:

'The PCB side of the keys were very light gold plated (very!) and they oxidized in a hurry after that time. The PCB of the Interface also was bonded paper (Pertinax)' from here https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=885&start=8

'the caps got connection problems and had do be repaired with some kind of conductive paint' from https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2972s&start=2

'I was able to revive keyboard by sticking foil pads on keys' from https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3698&start=7. This thread also has the complete details of the interface, which is not AT/XT, as attachments.

Does not seem like Keytronic F&F (no exposed pads, and KT generally made pretty high quality PCBs), possibly conductive dome over PCB?

Burroughs Century and SR 100 keyboards. I think probably foam and foil, but the wiki lists opto-electric for another model. Anyone have any ideas?

Possibly Cherry, but probably foam & foil.

FWIW, I like the idea of the tilde/accent (`~) key way far away from the other keys. However, I really dislike where the backslash/bar is (\|).

Yeah it's a weird layout.

The label reminds me of Sanyo keyboards font and since it's from Japan I thought it might be a Fujitsu board. 😅

I think I'll just spend the 30bucks for the community.
