Hey everyone,
This is my first time posting. I have a NTC KB-6251/2 keyboard that up until recently was functional. One day I decided to open the key switches up and lubricate them a bit using silicone spray. After greasing up and cleaning all of the switches, I reassembled the keyboard and pluged it in. It worked great for an hour or so but at some point Windows made some beeping noises and the keyboard stopped working.
Now this keyboard has a switch behind with two positions. On 8088 mode nothing happens and the keyboard is dead. On 80286 mode the num lock led lights up and I can turn toggle it buy pressing num lock. I tried cleaning it with deionized water but that didn't do anything. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the cause of the issue and what I can do next?
Any help is greatly apreciated

TL;DR Keyboard stopped working after computer made beeping noises but on 80286 mode numlock led still responding to keystrokes

try resetting the PS/2 port on your motherboard
