Do B3G-S switches fit into standard Cherry plates?

I want to do a project with B3G-S switches, they seem to have a square footprint rather than the rectangular Alps footprint. Is it the same as Cherry MX?

Cherry plates use 14mm*14mm hole size, 13.5mm*13.5mm will be fine for B3G-S according to specification.

I'm also working on a project about B3G-S switches and I can get two variants NOS B3G-S switches from Taobao.
Tactile whites with "JAPAN" logo and ambers without "JAPAN".
Does anyone know which is better? I heard Ambers are really unreliable.

Hmm. Plate thickness = 1.2 mm, whereas Cherry MX uses 1.5 (even up to 1.6 sometimes).

If you had wanted to design a kind of universal keyboard for both switch types, you should also note that height from PCB to top of plate is 5.0 mm for Cherry MX but 4.5 mm for B3G-S.
