Regarding the NOS F XT with the cut cable: Orihalcon or someone else who has opened up F XT units before, please confirm that those "loose" cables (those numbering 50-ish in an earlier post) are indeed the correct ones for it.
They are Model F AT cables, at least the one pictured is.
The XT cable is much shorter and uses a wider socket that clips onto the controller. The AT cable is much, much longer and has a smaller socket to connect to the controller.

Too bad. A friend of mine has an F XT with a cut cable that needs a replacement.

I think Orihalcon sells them, but I don't know - he hasn't updated his thread in a year.
Ask Redmaus to check for different cables, if he has NOS Model F AT cables, surely he'll have NOS XT cables.

Holy shit what a find. Those sabre model Ms
AND that multistation keyboard...man just amazing.
Price checks? Sell the NOS IBM Model M SSKs at 250 dollars each and they WILL sell fast (and list their mfg. dates as well!)
$250 sounds like a good price, except they are new in box. That's what makes this hard. Selling them for too little doesn't make sense as I could use the money.
SABRE Model M keyboards: besides the caps (which is what makes them interesting), they are the exact same thing as regular Model M units; those you got should have the part number 1393464 instead of 1391401, though. I've seen "SABRE M" keyboards (with the "proper" part number) go for as low as 60-ish and as high as 200-ish on eBay. If those keyboards are in bad shape (as opposed to just dirty), you can well sell the keycap sets only for a decent price.
Yeah, I will definitely keep a couple of the sets for myself, I might have way more in a box of model M's I haven't cataloged yet. I'll probably sell the full boards for $100 each and if someone just wants the caps I'll do $80. For a full set of keys cleaned.
(EDIT: I remember that a few years ago someone on ¿Geekhack? found a large stash of SSKs and sold them all for ¿150? bucks to GH members, but of course I can't find that thread now)
Were the ones he found new in box? I'd love to see that thread if you can find it.

That's what I meant. At 250, you'll sell them FAST. Tune up the price, and they won't go as quickly, but I do think you'll be able to sell them at 300 without issue. Just don't go all greedy, like that ¿1avid_collector? dude on eBay, who's had an almost NOS, bolt-modded SSK for more than 400 bucks for MONTHS and it still won't sell.

Tempting... tempting... (as long as it's indeed a full SABRE set, without any replacements from other keyboards (the space doesn't count))

No, those weren't NIB, but I seem to remember they were in great condition, and it was a LARGE lot of them (more than 100, IIRC). I still haven't found the GH thread.
AND that multistation keyboard...man just amazing.
Yeah the multistation is gonna be shipped out tomorrow, someone here on DT bought it for $300.
Well, colour me surprised (not!!!).

Thirty NIB SSKs :-O
That’s unreal.
I actually feel like $250 might be a little bit high when there’s suddenly 30 of them on the market at once and considering they’re being offered by someone in the community rather than an eBay parasite; that Geekhack sale comes to mind where they went for $150, but as mentioned those were not NIB so ... I don’t know. $250 is probably reasonable.
OTOH it’s not for me to say; I own two SSKs already and I don’t collect keyboards just to let them sit in boxes - so I wouldn’t jump on them at any price really. I’d love to see them go to people in the community who a) will unpack them and use them, and b) don’t already have one.
In any case, congrats on the find and GLWS

That's absolutely insane.
As for some pricing
For IBM 5140 keyboards, generally they go from $160-220 depending on condition. Sometimes less but those get swiped up pretty quick.

I thoight it was 4 SSKs, but then the text says .... 30 - great finds!
Would you be so kind as to send me a few strands of hair for my vood...er... I mean... for no reason whatsoever?
I can't blame you for feeling that way now, because those SSK's absolutely blew my mind. I never imagined to find anything of that scale there. I'm still going back to the moment I realized what they were under that huge pile, it still seems so unreal.

I definitely don't plan on going insane, even if I found only two of these the pricing would be the same. I'd love to get that ebay post.
No, those weren't NIB, but I seem to remember they were in great condition, and it was a LARGE lot of them (more than 100, IIRC). I still haven't found the GH thread.
Well 100 is hard to beat $150 is definitely not what I'm gonna price them at, I think the OG box and sealed cable adds value to say the least.
In either case I'd love to see that thread.

I'm not going to use that GH find as a benchmark until I have a thread, and I'm guessing that was a long time ago. Stuff went for a lot cheaper a few years ago. It's honestly tempting just to hoard them so I have thirty SSK boxes staring back at me when I fall asleep.

Thanks, all the feedback and replies in this thread are very much appreciated. I'm not going to list what I have gotten recently for awhile until I sell some of the other stuff and have more space and more PRICE CHECKS still have no clue what some of this is worth so listing anything is a nightmare.
As for some pricing

Thanks for the input, I would love for someone to buy the actual unit and get something out of it rather than just ripping out the boards on these guys.
I thoight it was 4 SSKs, but then the text says .... 30 - great finds!
Yeah even finding four would be ideal, but 30 was a dream come true. It's to relish in the finds when I have so much work to do photographing, cataloging, shipping, cleaning, storing, photographing, listing, and so much more. I probably need to make a thread like this on Geekhack, the more interest the better so I have a better idea of what to price it all at when its time.
As for the IBM 5140s it’s not uncommon to see SKCM browns sell for $4 per switch these days in great-or-NIB condition, and maybe $3 for decent condition. As a brown Alps hoarder and enthusiast I’d love to see these go for less but I can’t deny that they are worth those prices.
The 5140 has around 60 browns if memory serves (someone keep me honest here; it may have a few more or less?), which puts the (retail eBay) price at $180 to $240 depending on condition. Subtract $20-30 and you are giving the buyer a nice and fair deal.
Update: just realized that’s exactly what ZedTheMan wrote just with more words

I found my notes from the time, it was around October 2017 and the find was >40 SSKs (initial waiting list batch, I think there were maybe 10 more offered after that but I’m not sure; was it really >100?). They were sold for $150 for blue labels and $175 for white labels. And no, they were not NIB by any means. I would never expect Redmaus to sell NIB ones at prices like those.

And wasn't more than a hundred units... was just memory inflation, dammit. Makes redmaus' find of thirty NIB units all the more noteworthy.

Not just noteworthy, possibly unprecedented. I recall people talking about a huge find that Cindy made not long before I entered the community, which I think contained both SSKs and Unsavers?

Damn Google pics! They automatically delete pictures over a certain age, so the pic of the unsavers is gone, unless I find it somewhere else. Those beamsprings were sent to me as "non-working AT keyboards"
Sorry for the interruption, redmaus. The unsavers (I had 8 of them) were sold in 2017. Xmit took one of them, see viewtopic.php?f=52&t=15555&p=354610&hil ... er#p354610

Iv'e decided to sell those for $150, I don't want to upcharge that much for only 60 SKCM browns.

Tragic, a picture of Unsavers is not one I'd want to lose. I don't mind the interruption, once I sell some of what I have and get a more efficient cataloging and listing strategy I might want to take another shot at erecycling centers
"Non-working AT keyboards" Who would think those are AT keyboards? (unless I misunderstand what AT means)
Why is this a competition? I hope you compensated the old man very well for what you took.
It isn't a competition, I'm only impressed with the thought of 100 SSK's.
There wasn't an old man selling it, it's organized by someone younger. He didn't seem to care much about keyboards, he saw more value in the actual retro systems that were stored there. Either way the goal of the entire operation is to clear the warehouse so they can sell the lot instead of paying people to send it to the landfill, so I got it for a pretty good price. I plan to help him clear out some of the heavy monitors and help other people find what they want when I go next week.

Elecplus I still have that Unsaver on my shelf, it's part of my permanent collection. Thank you again for it.
Redmaus, I'd consider a trip up myself if I didn't think it would be a complete waste of time. It's hard to know if you cleared out many of the keyboards or if there is still more being uncovered. What do you think?
If I had a pile of SSKs and Model F XT chassis around I'd convert a few into FSSKs and sell them. I love my FSSK. I'd certainly like a new SSK but don't want to get in the way of someone else getting one.
Shame. I've got a truck, a trailer, and a shipping container for storage. I just don't have time to hunt, sort or ship.

I'd like to see your collection in person some time, I remember from your website it was quite impressive. Did you ever convert that hall effect TI board?

It's hard to say, there could be a lot more left or nothing at all left. There's a couple piles I need to investigate, but its possible I won't even be let back in as of today.

I think I still have an FSSK PCB around my house. I might convert my not NIB SSK to it now that I'll have one of the NIB ones to keep.

I do, I've actually gotten pretty good at cataloging and listing now. I even got discounts at my post office for shipping so it's all going more smoothly now. I wish I had that storage though, I have had to keep most of my haul stored in my room so I have two huge shelves looming over my bed.

Why would you not be let back in? Just you or anyone?
It's 7 hours of driving just to check it out, so, I'll probably sit this out.
Sure, come see the collection. Bring a camera. Most of it is in storage at the moment.
