As requested, a TDXL of BOX whites, which I have in this G80-3000; one of my first switch swap projects. Nowadays everything is a lot easier with hot-swap sockets; also, I probable couldn't have picked a worse chassis for them xD . Anyway, hope you enjoy the video! :)

I'm not sure if I understand this. Stock G80-3000 doesn't have a plate: how did you secure the switches? (Whether you're using hotswap sockets, or not; Kailh Box are only 3-pin AFAIK.)

Oh Chyros, you odd job! You know how a solid keyboard handles, and yet you chose to do this? Boggled…

Badly xD . Like I said, it was not a good choice of chassis xD . It's held only by the solder points iirc!

(also doesn't help that the PCB of the G80-3000 is pathetic xD)

If you are ever going to refit this you could use a GH80-3000 PCB (they work on the old G80-3k cases like this one) and individual plates for each of the blocks of keys. Also there is a mod you can do to the case where you can put brass screw inserts into it (did this with Elrick's G80)

Haha no point mate, might as well slot them into my GMMK xD . Much better chassis anyway!

I think you could safely go back to WYSE chassis, plenty of them get harvested so you wouldn't even need to desolder yourself. Folks throw them out too often IMO.

The Wyse is a good chassis, but not hot-swappable. For some it's a gimmick; for me, as a reviewer, a hot-swappable keyboard is an absolute god-send. And by now I've got multiple, so there's really no reason to go back to the Wyse for me xD .
